The home we stayed in was beautiful. The views of the mountains were spectacular. The beds in the bedrooms were spacious with plenty of closet space as well as dresser space. The kitchen was well equipped. The fireplace was big and we had a fire every night. The deer and a bunny rabbit were around every night. Eagles Mere is a lovely town to walk around and centrally located for other areas up in the mountains. Would definitely stay again.
Location was wonderful with views of the mountains from the living room. Our family of 4 had plenty of space to relax after hiking or bike riding. Bayard was quick to respond to all of my messages and gave great insight to the area.
We know Eagles Mere well and decided to go stay at Windswept because of its size, location and view. It is a perfect cottage for 2 to 5 people and we loved its coziness and rustic style with easy layout, fireplace and two baths. We will return and thank Bayard for sharing such a wonderful retreat.
The property itself is beautiful; however, 2 days into our month long stay, the area was hit with the remnants of a hurricane ( rain and strong winds). This caused water intrusion along one entire side of the cabin and portions of the roof. We left on the third day. Our host was gracious and worked with us and VRBO to refund our money.
This cabin is in a beautiful location, within an easy walk to town. The view of autumn leaves on the mountains was spectacular. The outdoor deck was a great place to socially distance with friends and family. The cabin is well stocked and, although an older property, it was very comfortable.
We found this cabin in Eagles Mere was one of the most beautiful places we have vacationed so far. The cabin is set beautifully between the mountains - with an extraordinary view. The cabin is rustic, well-maintained and very spacious (at least for a family of four). The village and the ice-cream parlor are within walking distance. The lake is beautiful, and the Land's end state park is only 15 minutes away. We spent a wonderful vacation there and are very happy to have discovered another beautiful part of Pennsylvania. We would certainly love to come back next year!

Relaxing and quiet
Windswept Cottage was a nice getaway for my wife and me. Most importantly the bed was very comfortable, so after a good night sleep, we could could enjoy our days hiking around Eagles Mere Lake, the wooded neighborhood, and the State Parks nearby. The cottage inside has a nice homey feel, plenty of deck and porch space, and the gazebo is a pleasant spot to read or enjoy watching the birds darting around the grassy meadow. There are a lot of yellow finches, blue birds, and the occasional deer passing through.
This property was exactly what we were seeking for our adventure week in Sullivan County. Ample gathering space inside and out. Decor is cozy and fresh. Communication with our hosts was excellent. We were provided all of the details we needed to have a successful stay which was really nice. The home is conveniently located for visits to Eaglesmere Lake and Conservancy trails, World’s End State Park, Loyalsock Creek and trails. I started every day out on the gazebo enjoying the view while my dogs played in the spacious yard. I really liked the “clean” products provided, from organic spices to free and clear detergent. I highly recommend staying at Windswept!

A perfect place to start your life together
My daughter was married here on a gorgeous summer day with views that stretched forever over the PA mountains. We held the ceremony in a tent on the large lawn. The guitarist played from the gazebo. The cozy home was used by the bridesmaids the night before and by the bride and groom on their wedding night. The porches were great for entertaining. The owner, Bayard, was beyond wonderful in accommodating us....we could not have asked for a nicer experience. We built a team of people from Eagles Mere or nearby to help us, and along with Bayard everyone was so kind and helpful.
The decor of the house is absolutely perfect and in keeping with a summer cabin. We found everything we needed and knew that if we needed anything else, the owner was very reachable via phone or text. A notebook answered all of our questions, both for our arrival and departure.
This home and property will always be dear to us as the place our daughter and her husband joyously celebrated a joining of hearts.
I stayed in the property from May 23 through June 28. It was too soon in the sense that there are very few people in Eagles Mere that early in the summer and almost nobody during the week. It was too soon in the sense that I should have read it later, had the property been available, because people were just beginning to come to Eagles Mere for the month of July.
The cabin has everything necessary, with the exception of television and air-conditioning. The Wi-Fi is. Really hit or miss, but I have learned that if you turn it off and on with a 10 seconds or more interval, generally it starts working again.
The owner was generous with his time by email helping me become acclimated and to straighten out any problems I was having with the property. A good rental property and a good owner.

cozy house with beautiful view in lovely town
Thanks to our hosts for a lovely stay -- the house is even better than the pictures depict and nicely located in that it is about a 20 minute walk through the neighborhood down to the lake and the ice cream shop. Eagles Mere is a lovely small town and well-situated close to two Pennsylvania treasures: Worlds' End State Park and Ricketts Glen -- there are plenty of hikes in both parks to keep you busy for a week.

This is our favorite MDW getaway and Bayard is a great host!
The house is nicely situated to give you great views of the Endless Mountains but still be a short walk to the Sweet Shop, Eagles Mere Imn for dinner and the lake. Also recommend the Barn Tabern for good bar food, just a short drive away. We’ve stayed here twice now and always happy with the state of the house when we arrive and the really clear, useful instructions from Bayard before we arrive. Our daughters and dog are all fans! We’ll be back next year!

Perfect location for nature lovers
We enjoyed our time at Windswept. My husband and I celebrated our anniversary and we're looking for a primitive log cabin in a good location close to state parks and forests. This did not disappoint. It was neat and clean and we felt all our needs were adequately met. The owners are kind and willing to answer any questions we had. We brought all necessary items for a primitive weekend away but found the cabin was well stocked with what we needed. Hot water was ample and we never had a problem with heating. There is no cable and there is no a/c but we came during the fall foliage season and it was nice and cool and breezy. We enjoyed watching the wildlife from the hammock on the gazebo. The view was breathtaking and we saw many colors across the valley. A word about wildlife. It's definitely close. We had a 400lb black bear on the property our first evening here. The deer love to feed in the grass and there are majestic birds everywhere. We enjoyed this aspect. Don't miss High Knob Overlook for sunset watching and try out the Crestmont inn for dinner but I'd recommend only Friday or Saturday evening as they have rather a slower skeleton staff on the weekdays. If you need to catch a football game or "work remote" this really isn't the place. Come prepared to completely unplug from the world. Thank you Bayard and Judith for a wonderful weekend.

Great place
Beautiful spot on the outskirts of Eagle Mere with great views of the mountains from all sides. The cottage was clean and had everything we needed. We're planning to come again.
