"The Hotel has so much potential but there is a clear lack of care. During breakfast the linen was dirty. The breakfast was poor considering it cost R200 per person. The hotel is not cheap, but leaves a lot to be desired."

"I feel compelled to share my experience at the Hidden Inn, as it was quite the unexpected adventure. First and foremost, the pricing is incredibly reasonable, and the reception staff exude warmth in a tranquil setting. However, if you're planning a visit with family or anyone under 18, I would strongly advise against it! The walls seem to have ears—or rather, they amplify the sounds of intimacy from neighboring rooms, which was quite jarring for me. Before I could voice my concerns, my cousin popped by to say hello, and to my surprise, I was met with a loud knock on the door from the receptionist or perhaps the owner, sternly informing me that visitors were not allowed. This was particularly perplexing, considering I had booked for two adults! I recalled a phone call I had received earlier, where I was asked whether I preferred two small beds or one large bed, and I had opted for the latter. It dawned on me that this establishment seems to cater primarily to escorts seeking short-term stays. Ultimately, I made the decision to check out early, forfeiting some of my money in the process. I had been swayed by the glowing reviews prior to my booking, but what I encountered was far from satisfactory."

"Staying at Southey House was a superb experience! My hosts were friendly & kind - always willing to assist. By chance, I met with the proprietor of this establishment - Like her staff, she was ultra friendly & inquired about my stay experience. I informed her that the parking was a bit tight for more than 3 vehicles - she however assured me that there are plans to expand. Southey House is located in a dead-ended street, leading to a security entrance of a nearby college - I guess this contributed to the reduced traffic & quietness. The view out of the Karoo Room was stunning & contributed to the atmosphere of serenity. My room was virtually a suite - sufficient for a couple to enjoy in comfort. The breakfast included a nice selection of the usual cereals, breads, spreads, yoghurt - the fruit salad, however varied daily: one day included guava, another day berries... it was these special touches, along with the staff's attitude towards client service, that will draw me back to Southey House on my next trip to the Pinetown area. Thank you so much for a great experience!"
