The Krujë Castle was the fortress that helped George Kastrioti Skanderbeg defend Albania from the Ottoman troops that attacked it three times, in 1450, 1466 and 1467, but failed each time. Not only did Skanderberg stop the Ottomans from taking control of Albania, but maybe stopped them from controlling all of Europe. The castle museum is one of the better we have visited. Definitely worth the visit and the shopping streets below the castle are a treat to walk through.

"I stayed because I had a long layover and needed a place close to the airport as I flew out very early. The hotel is very close, 5 minutes to walk from the airport but they even offer a shuttle bus to drive you. There is a lot of construction at the moment, but I didn't hear much at night. They assissted ..."
