We really had a great stay. The staff are welcoming, friendly and very helpful. We were visiting family and the location was very convenient & easy to get to everywhere we needed to. The B&B is clean & tidy, the rooms serviced every day, clean linen & towels and plenty of space in our room. It provided us with a home away from home, and for some peace & quiet.
With a small fridge in the room, and a kettle for tea & coffee, plus access to the kitchen with microwave & other facilities, it allows for self-catering/preparation of lunch and/or dinner.
We’d recommend it.
Thanks to all the staff for making us feel at home.

A nice place but things went wrong for me.
My stay was relatively ok and the room had decent space however a few things let it down and thus overall tipped the scales negatively. The towels were musty and had a stuffy smell (even when drying ones hands, leaves a bad smell on the hands). The tv remote wasn’t working. I struggled with the shower door. More disappointingly though was the massive cockroach that greeted me when I walked in. Also the inconceivable small worms that were on the pillows (shook off 5-6 worms). The toilet also wasn’t cleaned properly and so I presume that normally the place would be good but on this weekend things just went wrong with my room. Disappointed because it’s a spacious room and breakfast was really tasty. It is probably a 2.5 star and not a 4 star.
Everything about our stay at Coweys corner was fantastic. Joan organised for us to be able to get in because we arrived late on our check in day and suggested we go for the outside room (room 6) as it is more private as there were going to be some other guests with kids.
The room was really big, had excellent air conditioning and DSTV (cable TV).
The breakfast in the morning was really good and you can select exactly what you want from the menu the night before so its ready nice and sharp in the morning.
The location is really good too, about 5 min drive from Florida street and between 10 and 15 to UShaka (the water park is worth the visit, not so much the marine world). The entrance is off the road so feels safer and they have plenty of protection on the walls and CCTV.
We had a really lovely time and would 100% recommend.
The help received from the cook and cleaning staff was excellent. Bar fridge was well stocked.
Room finishes could be improved. The ceiling moulding / repair finishes fell to floor and bed on my first night. The headboard does not fit. I found the old style room skirting boards robust and manly. The bath could have had more modern floor skirting fitted. The toilet flush needs service as it continues without stop unless pressed a few times. This waste water granted drought conditions in certain locales. Cornice finishes should be considered to uplift standards.
I would have rated the visit more highly had I been better informed by senior agents. The agent Joan whom I emailed prior to visit did not interact nor did I meet her on my visit. Apparently the owner Angela lives in the property next door. When I did accidentally meet she did not introduce herself which is inappropriate. She claimed she worked for Joan who emailed about the number of guests. I said one but if I did meet someone gorgeous said there would be two. I guessed same related to breakfast bookings however that was something easily done when on the premises. The cook Nikki advised that Angela was the owner of the property.
On a Friday evening I did hear a little religious music and assumed that may relate to attitude about guests. Other than weird management the stay was pleasant because I do not expend energy on vapid et ceteras. The fact that I have to mention it is inconvenient.
If you are in Durban and want to travel like I was mainly West and out of Durban then this was brilliant. Not to far to travel back on safe roads which are not to remote if late at night and you park in secure parking. I chose this rather than establishments in Umhlanga etc because of this. I had keys to enter the building and my room and a gate remote to come and go anytime of day and night. The staff are super friendly and efficient. Breakfast was everything one needs and kept me fueled up to start the day. When I am back that way and need a central Durban/Berea base camp to use, I will be back. Thanks for the great time everybody.
O atendimento foi excelente, no entanto o hotel fica em uma região central, o que nao me agradou.
Toalhas velhas, asperas.
Café da manha muito bom.
