Modern design retreat in Downtown Durango

The Stonehouse Loft is a brand new building, built from the ground up in 2015. Designed by your host, with plans drawn by Jess Wilton, a great local Durango architect, it was built by people (your host again!) and for people who love modern design. The Loft features radiant heated concrete floors throughout, and a modern, bright, but cozy vibe. Located a half block off of Main Avenue in downtown Durango, you can walk to all the shops, restaurants, galleries and bars in minutes from this centrally located apartment. A king size bed, lovely shower and bathroom, and well equipped kitchen provide you with the comforts and conveniences of home. Close to mountain biking, hiking, the river and the Durango Silverton Narrow gauge railway. This property puts you close to everything Durango has to offer. (DURANGO VACATION RENTAL PERMIT #15-010) ...There is off-street parking for one medium-sized or small car.

The property was very well equipped. George welcomed us with a bottle of wine and there was plenty of tea, coffee and a variety of condiments for us to use. We would stay there again if we were to visit Durango.

exploring historic Durango and surrounding area
This was the perfect location for exploring downtown Durango- shopping, restaurants and museums as well as walking the Animas River bike path and climbing the sky steps to Fort Lewis College. The downtown retreat was also great just to read and relax in the sunny kitchen or outdoor garden space. We would definitely book this spot again.

We loved our stay at this rustic, modern loft. Main Street is a block away, and we walked all over downtown. The loft is modern and clean! Very cute. Definitely a great place for a couple.

George's place is really awesome. The modern design and all the windows give it a large open feel. The kitchen was well equipped. George was quick to respond to anything we needed. The location of the place is great. Very walkable to everything on Main St. I would definitely stay here again.

If you appreciate design you are sure to enjoy this modern remake of a very cool old building. Many windows and great views! A very user friendly kitchen, the place is easy going and comfortable, and short walk to all Main Street offers. The host was easy to reach and gave me some good tips. Will look forward to staying here again.
