Nice property - it was unfortunate that due to the major cancellations at Luton airport there was a long wait for check-in but this was, I imagine, exceptional. Nice small hotel, friendly staff and good choice for breakfast.

Friendly and helpful staff, the location was decent and the accomodation lovely. The food on offer was great. Only complaint was the thin walls, we could hear a lot of what was going on in the next room, and our baby woke the baby in the room next door durng the night...

Superb place
We had an amazing time, we had a great meal in the Henry room. The slow cooked beef was delicious and would definitely recommend it and the biscotti cheesecake. The room was great and the service was too. Loved the walled garden and as it was a gorgeous day we sat out there till late having a few drinks from the bar in the garden.

Well managed family party
Fantastic sevice from Alex, who arranged our family dinner in a private room and was super helpful, and reception were also friendly. Breakfast was a bit of a shambles with staff who couldn't cope and werent professional, but overall a good stay - the food was excellent quality and value. Walled garden is pretty and the old part of the hotel is nice - the new parts lack any sort of character, but are comfortable enough.

Tried to check in early but the staff said we couldn’t , when we eventually checked in and went to our room we found it far too hot with no ac which was worrying for my partner who suffers from asthma.

2 Easy things to fix this hotel to a 5 star rating
Would have been 5 star BUT 2 things let it down badly 1. No room thermostats and the rooms were far too hot. 2. Bathrooms need complete modernisation, showers are outdated and not very good, mixer taps to set the temp, not good or effective. No grab handle or anything to hold onto when you step out of the shower, and with a shower over a bath these are an absolute ESSENTIAL. That being said, the beds were comfortable, clean, and the rooms a very good size, Service and food in the restaurant were excellent. All staff were extremely attentive and very helpful. Just a real pity about the heat and the bathroom

Wedding was going on when checked in . Went out came back to our room at 9 loud disco directly below our room. Would have been impossible to sleep . Called reception who moved us to a new upgraded room at the back of the hotel and floor above and no noise. At breakfast discovered numerous wedding guests had stayed so surely all rooms on the first floor need to be assigned to weeding guests. Also at breakfast huge tables for wedding party meaning felt no room and unwelcome if a wedding is on they need a separate breakfast room . And the wedding party need there own bar and area otherwise you are walking around wedding guests . If not a wedding on be great place to stay if a wedding on would avoid.

This could be a nice property but if they are hosting a wedding when you visit then you'll never find out. On arrival we found out that there were no dining facilities, no lift to reach the room nor anyone to assist with bags. Like many venues they were struggling for staff so getting served at the bar was a challenge. The worst aspect had to be the complete lack of sleep possible with wedding guests making noise until 5am. Following morning breakfast was set-up for mass catering with watery coffee served from a catering style vacuum flask. Cross-contaminated serving utensils even after advising staff of a mushroom allergy. I sure with no wedding ongoing we may have enjoyed a completely different experience. I'd recommend checking at the time you book what else if planned in this hotel especially if you actually want any sleep.

Whilst my previous stays have been below average I thought I would give this Hotel another go as the location was ideal. Yet again staying at this Hotel(if you can call it a Hotel) was a Joke. No internet, when I called I used my own Mobile as I was to lazy to move.,No one picked up, I tried at least three attempts, I thought giving the 80's phone in the corner of the room a go. wow!! someone did answer I said i have no internet he said someone will be there (you guessed it) no one turned up, so I called back and said don't bother I might as well go to bed However I looked at the 70's version of a air-con unit in the far corner of the room I turned it on. This unit had no power even to to cool the room if you left it on and could not Sleep due to the noise and if you turned it off. you heard noise as the room walls are so thin The Hotel had the nerve to charge you over £70 for the worse night sleep I have had.
