Groom's Bell is one of two adjacent cottages tucked in the corner of the courtyard. It was built in the 1830s but has since been restored and refurbished to meet modern standards, mixing 19th and 20th century furniture and styles whilst retaining a traditional cottage feel. In front is a small enclosed private garden, a sheltered sun trap with furniture for an impromptu alfresco meal and guests are also welcome to relax in the larger adjacent grounds of Castletoun House.
Groom's Bell has two bedrooms, each with an ensuite shower room and WC and both bedrooms can be arranged either as twin bedded rooms or with a king size bed - just let us know which you need at the time of booking.
Downstairs there is a well equipped kitchen with all the necessary appliances - from induction hob to a dishwasher. In the far corner from the kitchen, there is a dining table.
The living room is perfect for all the friends or family to gather in, to enjoy the evening warmth of the wood burning stove, watch the large flat screen smart TV (Netflix included) or browse the internet using the free WiFi. In the living room you will also find a good selection of books, board games as well as toys for the youngest members of the family.
Groom's Bell is in Greenlaw village, the Scottish Borders, and has charming southerly country views from every room across Blackadder River to Greenlaw Mill Farm and beyond to Catmoss Hill. It is within a minute's stroll of the centre of the village and the the lovely pub/restaurant, the Blackadder Arms, and yet is as quiet and rural as a country cottage.
