Perfectly located in one of the most desirable areas within Dumfries town itself, the property is within easy walking distance to restaurants, bars and shopping and is the perfect base for exploring the wider Dumfries & Galloway region.
With high ceilings and many original features still in place, Cranley offers a warm welcome in the winter months. In summer the large garden and patio are the perfect compliment to this charming house which is ideal for a family break.
The space
On entering the house you are greeted with a large hallway with sweeping original staircase and can really begin to appreciate how charming the property is.
The sitting & dining room is a cosy but spacious room with welcoming feature fireplace and plenty of comfy seating for a relaxing evening in front of the TV, alternatively, there is loads of room for a fun packed family games night!
Nestled in the bay window is a lovely chesterfield style lounge chair with footstool and is the most wonderful spot to curl up with a good book.
The large dining table is ideal for either a quick breakfast before heading out for the day to explore everything our beautiful region has to offer, but, is large enough for a full evening meal.
The kitchen is light and bright with plenty of room for even the most productive chef! Fully equipped, whether preparing a light lunch or 3 course dinner cooking is a breeze.
The adjacent utility room is ideal for washing hiking or cycling clothes, with a traditional 'Pullymaid' making it easy to get everything dry.
There is also a ground floor cloakroom (WC & basin) for convenience.
Move up the beautiful staircase to find the three bedrooms and main bathroom.
The master bedroom is extremely spacious with ample storage space and super comfortable twin beds, a feature of the room is the most stunning traditional dressing table.
Bedroom 2, again with twin beds, is also a good size room with plenty of storage and a lovely views across the garden and onto the bowling green beyond.
Bedroom 3, although smaller than the other two bedrooms still has ample room for a comfy double bed and built-in dressing table area.
The main bathroom sports both a full size bath and separate shower enclosure and has a lovely vanity unity with both floor and wall mounted cupboards, there is also a lit mirror and additional magnifying mirror.
Dumfries itself is steeped in history. Originally a market town, it is the resting place of Robert Burns and his favourite pub The Globe Inn is still going strong to this day and serves great food!
The birthplace of J M Barrie's Peter Pan, Moat Brae is dedicated to children's literature and is a fabulous place that kids adore.
There are numerous restaurants and bars with cuisine from all over the world.
Being centrally located within Dumfries & Galloway, Dumfries is the ideal base to explore the region on all sides, although it is the largest town in the region it is surrounded by hiking & cycling trails. For those who love to try new activities there is everything from fishing and clay pigeon shooting to water sports and sailing.
