The region
Brushford is situated on the southern edge of Exmoor National Park, the village boasts a 13th Century Church which was said to have been visited by Elizabeth I. Brushford is a small community 2 miles from Dulverton, one of the principle towns within Exmoor National Park, and around 10 miles through the park to the coast at Dunster, Porlock or Lynmouth.
Situated on a tributary of the River Exe, Dulverton is a centre for walking, riding and fishing, and is well served by several good restaurants, pubs and antique shops as well as an excellent range of local shops including small supermarket, butcher, greengrocer, baker, delicatessen and fish & chip shop.
There is a wide choice of picturesque walks, a favourite being along the river bank into Dulverton – an ideal Sunday morning stroll for papers and coffee.
