Located on the 3rd floor, access involves climbing the grand staircase followed by the servants' staircase, marked by a gold plaque, as there is no elevator in the mansion.

This room boasts 15 ft. high beamed ceilings, original wall sconces and Russian Circadian White Oak Floors, a Grand Piano, and Chess Nook. Challenge your partner to a game! Grab a book and put your feet up in the library where you can let your imagination take you back in time to Joseph Cotton's Library and law office where the legal roots of Duluth's iron ore industry and US Steel were forged. This impressive room features a magnificent black marble fireplace, leather furniture, and black fumed woodwork. Books and artwork are for your enjoyment. Cotton Mansion built in 1908, by Joseph Cotton, is a 16,000 square foot Italian Renaissance mansion and Carriage House located in the historic mansion district of Duluth, Mn. Beautiful custom-crafted details include an incredible array of hand-carved stone, exotic woods, Fifteenth Century Italian marbles, stunning mosaics and hand-carved plaster frieze ceilings. Experience the lifestyle of one of Duluth's great historic figures, Joseph Cotton, corporate attorney for US Steel (1901-1908) and independent council for John D Rockefeller through 1935. Cotton enjoyed a unique relationship with US Presidents, which included being chosen by Teddy Roosevelt to give his second nominating speech at the 1904 Republic Convention in Chicago. While having a car is recommended for convenience, no worries if you don't have one. Duluth has got you covered with plenty of public transportation options to explore the area. You can hop on the Duluth Transit, or take advantage of ride-sharing services like Uber and Lyft. And if you prefer traditional taxis, there are many other taxi services available too. So, whether you're cruising in your own car or using one of these convenient options, getting around won't be a problem at all. Enjoy your adventures in Duluth!

The guest entrance is located on the side of the main house under the porte cochère (the area the horse drawn carriage used to deliver passengers). Once inside the house, guests will have access to the front veranda. Please keep all doors locked both side and front. This suite is on the 3rd floor of the Cotton Mansion, you will need to go up the grand staircase and the proceed to the servants staircase which will be identified with a gold plaque labeled as such. Please note that this property does not have an elevator.

During your stay with us you are welcome to use one of the parking spaces located behind the mansion or up by the carriage house, If for any reason you are unable to park in the provided spaces, you may park on the street in front of the Inn. Duluth enforces odd/even parking year round, so just park on the same side of the street as the other vehicles
