Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities
The public areas are run down. The room was a stark contrast to the lobby. Bright, clean, spacious. Beautiful view out to the water.
The staff was friendly and very warm. Easy street parking around the corner. Lots of dining options near the area.
Quite possibly the nicest stay at a B&B in the UK. Room was excellent, clean and well thought out. Bar and restaurant offered an amazing varied menu and breakfast was included, which also had varied options. The staff were always extremely helpful and happy to help. A beautiful old pub in a countryside environment within easy distance of Dover, Deal and Sandwich. 20 out of 10
The Inn was a rare find. Perfect location between Dover and Canterbury. Lovely restaurant, lively people. Restaurant had good food and a great atmosphere.
Well appointed room. Private and cozy. Clean and modern.
Staff were friendly and very helpful.
Convenient bus into Dover or to Canterbury. Would have liked to stay longer!
Great rooms adjacent, but separate to the Lydden Bell pub; one electric car charger ( first come basis) pub staff very friendly, good atmosphere and excellent food. Large garden area if you are lucky with the weather.
Brand new accommodation- it was lovely and clean. Excellent service. Breakfast tray very welcome and we left early next morning. Would recommend family room
Stayed for one night prior to getting the Eurotunnel the following day.
This is what I would call a country pub which is family friendly with large grounds for children to play.
The rooms are all new with very modern fittings and found to be comfortable. Moderate size room, which is large enough for short stays. Good shower over a bath and whilst not a problem, the bath is very small and would have I preferred a walk-in shower.
Had an evening meal and breakfast, both were well cooked and good value. Service was a little slow, but not when it tasted like everything was freshly cooked, so well worth any wait.
Overall a great place to stay, excellent value and highly recommended.
The actual room is beautiful and we would have been thrilled to stay there on any other weekend but unfortunately on our weekend the pub was closed for a private function. Apparently we were sent an email, I didn’t see this but maybe the rooms shouldn’t be sold if you can’t eat or drink in the pub. The pub is fairly remote and we had to call around local pubs and restaurants and found somewhere to eat about 20 minutes away. We just wanted to chill for the weekend and not drive so it was quite disappointing really
Very easy to find just off the main road but it’s in a nice and quiet location. Staff seem generally very fresh but very friendly and were on hand to get us checked in asap! Good selection of beer and a strong pub food menu packed with the classics.
A couple of complaints… the room wasn’t as clean as we would have liked. There were some hairs in the bed and the cups in the room were grimey. The bed was also one of the worst I have attempted to sleep on in recent times. The mattress was old and lumpy and the pillows wafer thin, the bed frame had also seen better days with the slightest movement sending the whole thing rocking.
Although it makes you aware there isn’t wifi in the rooms it would be a really nice touch as it’s a great jump of point for getting into Europe. Trip planning these days requires the internet! It would also be nice if the TVs were hooked up to a better internet connection as an episode of something on Netflix is a great way to settle in for an early night to get an early crossing. On that note, it would also be good if breakfast was a little earlier for those planing on getting the miles in on the mainland.
