Devanahalli Fort is located 35 kilometers (22 mi) north of Bangalore city, at Devanahalli in the State of Karnataka, India.[1]

It was originally built in 1501 by Mallabairegowda,[1][2][3][4] which remained in the hands of his descendants until the mid–eighteenth century. In 1749, the then Dalwai of Mysore, Nanjarajaiah, attacked the fort and occupied it. Later, the fort passed into the hands of Hyder Ali and subsequently Tipu Sultan.[2] In 1791, Lord Cornwallis laid siege to the fort and took possession during the Anglo-Mysore War.

The birthplace of Tipu Sultan, also known as Tiger of Mysore, is located near to the fort.[5] The fort is situated on the side of National Highway 7, near the Bengaluru International Airport.

"Amazing stay. Kunwar at the reception was very nice and one of my favourite. Staff were courteous. Food was good, Fabelle chocolate shop at ITC was very convenient to buy chocolate for gifts. Great location too. Highly recommend "

"Good stuff at Reception helpful and the other's too ,good GUM Swimming pool is not bad . I wish they make a small widow for the Smoking rooms . They should do different Breakfast for other's because it too spicy. All the best to Holiday inn Bangluru. "

"It’s Taj. It’s a 5 star hotel. You get fantastic services and staff and food and ambience. They know how to treat guests well. the Taj is simply amazing. The room was great and adequate for 2+ people and I had an amazing view of the Bangalore foresty area and metro and being on a higher floor I got to see spectacular sunsets in evening. The amenities were great and the staff did housekeeping well. Overall I was very happy with the stay. The dining restaurant Palette downstairs was amazing with superb breakfast selections of south and North Indian and other foods and also middle eastern like hummus and babaganoush and olives and pita bread. I got to speak to the chef who was pleasant and cheerful and our server who was smiling and took care of us so well. I love India and the smiling Indians and Taj is a highly recommended hotel. It is located about 45m from the airport and about 30-40m drive to downtown Bangalore and 30m to most tourist spots nearby including the Palace and about 45m to the Lalbagh gardens. Overall really glad I chose this Taj. "
