Escape on Lake is a recently renovated, family and dog friendly, rental property in the heart of Detroit Lakes. We are within walking distance to the city beach, boat access, park, hospital, hockey arena, and many local restaurants/bars. It is perfect for a family getaway or small gathering of friends, or for traveling employees. 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, access to washer/dryer, fully loaded kitchen, and other basic amenities will make you feel right at home. Great Weekend Getaway
My friend and I stayed at this property over the weekend and surprisingly were able to stay within a 2-block radius the entire time. In one direction you have the lake, beach, and bars/restaurants. In the other direction, you have shops, a cafe, co-op, bookstore, brewery, and restaurants. The house was clean, comfortable, and in a great location. For two women, we felt safe the entire time and had a wonderful stay.

Wonderful Girls Weekend at Escape on Lake!
My friends and I thoroughly enjoyed our recent weekend stay at Escape on Lake. We found the home very clean, comfortable and well stocked. The location was perfect for walks down by the lake and very close to downtown for shopping and restaurants. The host was very responsive when a small issue popped up while we were there. Don't hesitate to book this place for your next stay in Detroit Lakes!

Very cozy and feels like home away from home. Chris checked in to ensure my stay was comfortable and was always a message away. Appreciated the complimentary coffee and creamers, and all other household items available. Upscale hotel feel and warm and inviting. Will stay again for my next visit.

Comforts of Home
My extended family and I had a full house with 7 of us staying at the property. The beds were so comfortable. I don't think I've ever bragged about such a great night sleep away from home. The kitchen and baths were well stocked with amenities to make our stay even better. The bathtub, which is huge, got a lot of use and enjoyment. I would definitely stay here again when visiting DL!

DL and the never ending Winter!
The property was amazing. super clean and modern. Huge kitchen to work in, we made apps for dinner both nights.. Property was so close to shopping, the lake and restaurants. We stayed in both nights playing games and drinking wine! I highly recommend this property whatever the season is!

Enjoyed our stay in this updated property. Appreciated the nice appliances, W/D on main level & two full lovely bathrooms as well as nice table out back. Lots of thoughtful touches throughout — coffee, laundry supplies, generous amount of towels, etc. Only suggestion is to clean up weeds in backyard but really so minor. Thank you — we hope to be back next year!

Great Getaway
I am originally from the area and visit often with my kids and my brothers kids. This was the perfect location! Walking distance from the beach, the mall, restaurants. You can walk to Zorbaz easily! The place was great. Cute & cozy. Very clean. Owners definitely paid attention to details. Owner checked in regularly to see if we needed anything. They had a cute little gift basket w a note waiting which was so nice. Absolutely gem of a house & location.

Beautiful well kept home tastefully decorated with quality appliances and decor. Very clean and well maintained home. The location is ideal for neighborhood walks. Easy walk to all restaurants, entertainment, and the beach too! Quiet and peaceful neighborhood. When we arrived there was a welcome card and a basket with some goodies for us. They also had many of the necessities one would need above and beyond most VRBO homes. Chris was responsive and a great host! Thank you for sharing your home with us. We will be back!

Great location
We were a family of 4 staying over the New Year Holiday. This property is a fantastic location. Walkable to Zorbaz, Washington Street, and the beach. We skied at DL Mountain, and that was only a short drive away. Property was very clean. Communication was great. There are two covered parking spots off the street. Each of my teenagers took a bedroom upstairs and my husband and I stayed on the daybed (with trundle) on the main level. The main level (off the kitchen) is where the shower is. Don't worry if you don't get a code to check in the day before, Chris sends it 30 minute prior to check in time.
