This Inn has charm and great location. The building is a great example for restoration of a historic building, especially the main floor areas and stairwell to 2nd and 3rd floor. The location to Little Caesars Arena is excellent and walkable to downtown locations. Our room was big and roomy. However the rug was dirty, the blinds in the window were broken, the vanity in the bath room had 1 of 4 lights working. The room looked a little rough compared to the attention to detail they gave the first floor room sitting areas. I would probably stay again but would hope the room didn't look so run down

The location was fantastic in relation to Little Caesars Arena. Loved the uniqueness of the building. The size of the room was huge. I would definitely stay again. Some ways to improve would to be to have a douvet, rather than a quilt. Also, the pillows were not the best quality and mattresses could use an update. The breakfast was okay. Just bagles, muffins, fruit and yogurt. It could be improved. I would definitely come back for the location and uniqueness of the building.

The Inn was in a perfect location for us to walk to a hockey game at LCA. We were also able to walk to downtown shops and restaurants during our stay. Our room was comfortable, except it was a bit hot at night. However, that would not be enough to keep us from staying here again. We enjoyed the architecture and history of the building as well as the modern upgrades in our room. The shower was great and the water nice and hot! Thanks for a great stay!!

Totally unable to sleep , the temperature in the room where in the mid 80s and up , windows would not open and no control of thermostat, no one in hotel to help at night ,very unpleasant experience at the hotel , no water in the room or glasses . This hotel was so over priced for what we did (not) receive , old worn old furnishing disguised as antiques ,when told about the problem with the heat prior to us going out for the evening ,said they would take care of and when we returned nothing was done and no one to be found , talked with personnel in morning , said they have never heard of this problem before , I call bull ***t , not a pleasant experience and would not recommend, this is the first time I have ever written such a poor review ,no one else should have to experience this !

The power went out to our room at 2:33 am because the space heaters used to heat the place tripped the breaker. So there was no lights, heat, or power after that!! We called the "emergency" phone number 5 times and no one answered or called back. Someone came to fix it at 10 am. I have yet to get a call back from the property 3 days later. $200/night for no electricity and having to use the flashlight on my phone to see to get to the bathroom, crazy. There is no staff at this place after you check in. Black mold in the shower and you may or may not have electricity. Insane!!

So conveniently located to several venues (Little Caesars, CoMerica Park, Ford Field, Masonic Temple, Fox Theatre) all within walking distance. More restaurants in the area will hopefully come. Would definitely stay here again

Excellent location to see a show at the Fox, go to LCA, Ford Field or Comerica. The area is clean and safe. Hotel has an excellent fresh Continental breakfast. Also, the rooms are absolutely gorgeous as the house is a masterpiece of 19 century architecture.

The staff was very courteous & helpful. It is a very old property but well maintained. The stairs can be challenging for carrying up luggage. A great find in Downtown Detroit!!

My husband and I stayed at the hotel so we could attend a concert. We went to Caesars Arena so the location was amazing ..entering the hotel we were very pleased with the decor.. when we got to our room it was adorable historic, colorful, and comfortable. We were very pleased with the staff that worked inside. They were friendly and inviting . However, the parking attendant was extremely RUDE..When we parked our car he approached us and asked why we passed him in the lot. We told him we didn’t necessarily see him and that we were lost. He was relentless in reprimanding us for driving past him as though he was some type of authoritarian. Had we had the option of leaving at that point we would have? I’m glad that we didn’t because the hotel was beautiful.

What a beautiful property and beautiful experience! Our room was gorgeous, and I loved that all of the rooms are different. A major perk was that our room had a massive bathroom and hot tub, and it was so lovely to come home to that every night. The whole vibe of the place is peaceful and elegant, and the staff were so helpful and accommodating. Additional highlights are the fantastic breakfast and extremely convenient location, with very close proximity to the arenas and downtown areas. I loved everything about this stay. My only complaint is the bed was not the greatest, and the shower didn’t get lava-hot the way I like it.

The location of The Inn at 97 Winder is perfect for walking to Little Caesar's Arena. The off-street parking is a bonus. I wanted to love this charming historic Inn but it fell short. The area rug in our room was stained and dirty. The blinds on the windows overlooking the street were literally hanging in shreds. The couch had stains. In the bathroom 3 of 4 lightbulbs in the fixture over the sink/mirror were burned out. A few repairs and improvements and this could be an award-winning Inn.

It was walkable to ford field and we felt safe walking after the event at 11pm. Denise welcomed us and was very informative and showed us exactly where we needed to go.
