"We were originally booked for 2 nights and extended it to 4. The hotel and Opatija were perfect for taking it easy and enjoying nature. The hotel is everything that the photographs depict. Having breakfast on our private terrace was to die for! The staff is friendly and efficient. One day we rented a car and drove to Motovun in the Istria Peninsula which was very enjoyable. Driving in that area was easy."

"If you missed out on the Communist era, the Hotel Neboder is running a neat simulation, note-perfect in several aspects: the menacing front-desk staff, outdated and broken furniture, carpets that needed replacing 20 years ago, and, of course, the truly scary mid-70’s elevator. Extra touches include an air conditioner pegged at 24 C, and room curtains that don’t fit the windows, but none of it would really work without the general atmosphere of hopelessness that is their real masterstroke. "The proximity to the centre of Malinska and the riva was exceptional, within walking distance of all restaurants cafes beaches. The reception and their demeanour left a lot to be desired. The wifi was deplorable with little empathy or willingness to hear about the wifi or offer and assistance or plausible reason for the terrible wifi, by the reception staff."

"Lovely hotel, good breakfast. Only complaint was the extra bed in our room for our son was awful. Really creaky with a wafer thin mattress. Other than that would recommend, nice area with lots of restaurants in walking distance."
