"Absolutely amazing!! Female solo traveler. There is a store right across the street with cheap beer and liquor. But if not the hotel literally sells everything you need. Jacquisse & miora are the best staff you have. Very knowledge and English is great. We had many girl time talks and they’re hilarious. There are also people that come from the beach everyday offering boat rides and hair braiding, etc. I ended up doing both. Rooms are extremely clean. No bugs, nothing is dirty, soap shampoo and hair dryer in room. The room has great AC unit. You have two front doors for extra safety and keeps the cold air in. My flight actually got canceled so they accommodated me an extra night with a nice discount. My only downfall was the restaurant. I was hoping for more Malagasy food. The restaurant had a lot of American cuisine. And they ran out of eggs often for breakfast, there no pork or meat for breakfast. But zebu/ chicken with bechamel sauce is good option for lunch. Cannot go wrong for crepes either. Other than that amazing !! To get a taxi just stand outside the resort and wave down a tuk tuk or push push. And they will help you asap. Wish I had more time here. "Palissandre is a wonderful property with 32 charming bungalows lining the coast. From your bungalow's porch, you can enjoy beautiful sunsets, walk the beach, or enjoy one of the 2 pools. We arrived in early January when the temperatures were quite hot. Our A/C unit worked, but could not maintain a pleasurable temperature, unfortunately. The staff is friendly and helpful, although we did feel at times we had to wait a fairly long time to receive food and drink after ordering, which might have been a symptom of the off-season we were visiting during. "Limited hotel choice in this region, but suggest you avoid staying here. We had booked into a "superior room with garden view" and were instead given a room in the dingiest darkest corner of the property overlooking a rusty iron fence in what felt like a dorm-room complex far from the pool and restaurant (after complaining we were given a much better room). The restaurant staff were useless and could barely serve dinner and breakfast or understand instructions. The food was below average and some of the worst we've had on this trip. The toilets next to the restaurant weren't cleaned regularly and always had full bins with used toilet paper and most of the time were out of paper. We'd booked for 3 nights but could only stay for 2, and although staff at reception confirmed that we'd only be charged for 2 nights they failed to inform the payments team, so we were charged for the full 3 nights, and they didnt seem to care. The manager swans around at dinner making small talk with guests but doesn't seem to actually manage anything, or train staff, or maintain high standards. Our guide told us that the manager had hit one of the drivers for daring to provide a bottle of water to their guest, because the hotel wanted to charge extra for the water, so now none of the guides and drivers want to stay here. They were rude to our guide and driver and didn't provide them with accommodation, which is against usual practice for hotels in Madagascar. "

"The room was extremely hot and we had no power for 11 hours. It was so hot we couldn't breathe. The problem, the staff told us in the hotel generator. If they can't accommodate a fan and a lamp, they shouldn't run the hotel in such an expensive price (90 euros for a double room without breakfast!). Also there were rats on the roof having a party all night. The water in the pool they advertise was green and murky. It hadn't been cleaned for ages. The only positive thing was that the staff was very polite although they don't speak a word of English or French. "
