"Lovely, well appointed gem in the quiet hamlet of Cognac. Terrific staff and Michelin Star dining on property - too much food! The pool is heated, convenient short walk from our room and the surrounding spa and amenities are outstanding. However, I cannot say enough about the impeccable staff who made us feel welcome at Christmas,"

"I am writing this review on behalf of my daughter. We originally booked it for one night only, but due to changing family circumstances she had to add another night. She doesn't speak French, so she was very impressed with the staff ability to communicate with her and help her with all her needs. Customer service is what made this property to stand out. "The staff is helpful and friendly. The rooms are alright too. But the location of the hotel is convenient only if the purpose of your trip is to visit the Cartoon Museum, which is around the corner. To get to the old town, where all the monuments, museums, churches, and restaurants are, you have to walk up a steep hill for fifteen minutes."

On arrival access was problematic and achieved only with the help of another visitor. Eventually one (extremely surly) staff member with poor attitude opened the door and dismissively pointed to envelopes containing the room keys before disappearing in a cloud of disinterest without providing the front door key code which the other...

"The hotel was beautiful and the staff beyond helpful.. Location was perfect in a beautiful street close to the main square and walking distance to everything. But you must be aware that its a small city ad taxi service is limited... i had to walk to the hotel from the train station and also on my way back.. all the taxis.were fully booked.. 1.4 km not bad but.with a suitcase is not fun... this not the hotel's fault... but you must be aware (the same is i guess for all hotels) "

"The property was clean but needed better access - several sets of stairs carrying luggage is not fun. Need better quality pillows. A/C clanged & banged all night. Shower was super tiny, you could barely turn around in it. "
