"Everything about our stay with Ida in the Starfish cottage was magical and perfect. Simple, adorable accommodations in a gorgeous location overlooking the bay and marina on Black Point Cay. It’s definitely out of the way (unless you have your own boat or plane), but getting there is part of the adventure. Ida and her family, along with all the residents we met, were welcoming and open to sharing their quiet island home. Travel light (& with a light touch) and you will be well rewarded with some of the most relaxing days of your life!"

"This was a perfect choice for our stay at Staniel Cay. The quaint cottage with two bedrooms was super clean and neat. Beds were absolutely the best, and the television and air were great. The walkability of the area proved a bonus, as we engaged with locals who were helpful and friendly. The restaurant across the street was perfect for breakfast and lunch. Local barbecue is a must under the pavilion on the main road. Access to the airport is a short walk and the docks are just as close. I lived everything at the cottage and on the island. A perfect place for a getaway vacation! "

"Property is just as described,with wonderful host. Cozy it was with everything you may need . We bought our meals at the local stores and cooked at the cottage. The golf cart cart was great to have near for rent we toured the whole island and seen all the lovely beaches. The house is a short walk to the beach and the ScyWourecomme"

"I almost hate to be honest about this amazing cottage because I'd like to keep it a secret for my family! The location of this quaint 2 bedroom/2 bath can't be beat, though you will need a golf cart to get to the grocery stores and restaurants. Your deck is perched above stunning turquoise water and you can hear the waves gently lapping and lulling you to sleep at night if you leave the sliding doors open (there are screens to prevent any bugs from entering). There's a short walkway to a beautiful little beach (Pirate Beach), but be careful, currents are very strong in between the cuts in the Exumas, like a powerful river. The best time to swim is slack tide---that's 30 minutes on either side of high and low tide. Thankfully it's pretty shallow so you can plant your feet. It's obvious by the change in water color where it's deep and where it's shallow. Haven't seen too many fish while swimming here, but I think that's got a lot to do with the strong current. There are better snorkel spots in other places around the cay. This is a peaceful paradise, perfect for unplugging and living Pura Vida. There is AC and Wi-Fi if you need it. No question, we'll we back."

"We made our choice to come here after reading their amazing reviews. We were blown away and will certainly be coming back. Ida and her so Terren are amazing and make the entire process extremely easy. We flew from Fort Lauderdale vía Makers Air which have a ton of flights into Staniel Cay. Once you arrive at Staniel Cay , Terren will be waiting for you practically on the tarmac and it’s a really short 10 min boat ride to black point . The house is extremely clean and accommodating. All tv’s have a fire stick to log into nextflix or any other streaming app. The AC’s work really good. The town is very small, but a good cart is necessary. We rented the golf cart from ida for our stay. There are a few local really small grocery stores and a few local small local restaurants. The location of the house is the best part. It’s is facing the most amazing beach I’ve ever seen and it’s just a few steps down from the house. There are beach chairs and large umbrella for the guest to use and Terren provided a small cooler that we used to take to the beach everyday. The beach is basically private as we didn’t run into anyone our whole stay. A must do is the day trip with Terren that takes you to the 9 locations, swimming with the pigs , grottoes, iguana island, sunken plane snorkeling, etc. It was so amazing we chose to do it two days in a row. This island is very special and small. You won’t run into any other tourists, just locals who are extremely nice."

"What an amazing trip! We spent time in every nook and cranny of the house and thoroughly enjoyed all its amenities.This was an awesome property and the perfect place to have a lovely vacation filled with beauty, fun and activity.The air conditioning was perfect! It made sleeping so pleasant. The swim up pool bar was ideal for our group, and we created some great memories while gathered there. We used the pickle ball court, the golf carts, and the beach cabana almost every day. The beach and ocean behind the house was picturesque. We just couldn’t get enough of this house and this beautiful island. We had a fantastic week. But, there’s no doubt in our minds that the people of Staniel Cay - both the staff and the locals - made our vacation special. They were friendly and kind. This is a unique, one of a kind property and a extraordinary island experience."

"We had an amazing time at Black Point staying in Seaweed Cottage. Ida was very responsive to my questions and arranged a golf cart rental and boat tour for us. She picked us up from the airport, gave us a quick tour of the island pointing out restaurants and markets, and stopped at a market before taking us to her cottage. The golf cart was waiting for us when we arrived which allowed us to explore the island as soon as we got settled in. The cottage is as described- Very clean, comfortable, with amazing waterfront views. The AC works great! TVs in all rooms with streaming services. The boat tour she arranged included 8 stops (including lunch at Staniel Cay Yacht Club.) I highly recommend the tour- saw the pigs, iguanas, beautiful sandbar, sharks, Rachel’s bubble bath, Thunderball grotto. We spent 3 days at the most beautiful, secluded beach nearby called Plain Bay. Highly recommend this beach! I packed basic snacks for our stay which allowed us to stay at the beach all day and we only went to restaurants at night. We ate at Emerald View, Lorraine’s High Tide, and Black Point YC. Ida’s son picked us up and took us to the airport for our departure. We will be back to stay in her cottage again but will stay longer next time! Thank you, Ida, for sharing your home with us!"
