Welcome to the Beach!

Unit 203 greets you with a one-of-a-kind mural of the beach, painted by the owner. This mural stretches the length of the entry hallway. Other unique artwork is found throughout the unit.

You can experience breathtaking Gulf views while preparing dinner in the fully equipped kitchen which features granite countertops and new cabinets. A smiling whale and an interesting frog are part of the unique artwork you will enjoy throughout the rest of the unit.

As you enter the living room you will be greeted by a large carving of a crane. Cranes are prevalent in the area. It is possible you will see them during your stay here.

The sofa features a built-in charging spot for your phone and a chaise section with storage for the bedding for the queen-size sleeper. The headrests are adjustable for a lower or higher profile to suit your likes. By lifting up on the back the armless chair turns into a comfy chaise. A curious Pelican keeps a watchful eye over the painting of a rustic boat and the rest of the room.

Delightful pictures of children playing at the beach and on the bayou are bound to bring a smile as you relax in the light airy bedroom.

In the adjoining bathroom, wall hangings of a Volkswagen bus and an Adirondack chair bring back memories of times gone by.

This unit is located near the west end of the building, allowing you to relax in the shade in the late afternoon on your own private balcony which has a high patio table with swivel chairs. In the morning you will enjoy the breathtaking sunrises, along with wonderful Gulf and beach views.

Nearby stairs allow you quick access to the beach without waiting for an elevator - It is just steps away!

We know you'll say, "We had the perfect beach vacation."

Holiday Surf and Racquet Club unit #203 accommodates up to 4 people with a King bed and a Queen sofa Sleeper. It has just a 3 night minimum stay year round.

The condo was very clean with comfortable furnishings. The beach chair service was a great bonus. This unit on the second floor was next to the stairs just steps from the beach. It was only a short drive to restaurants and activities. The Holiday Surf and Racquet Club was very well maintained and safe. We would definitely stay at this complex and this condo again.

Kitchen has the necessary utensils one needs; adequate bath towels. Cons: bed was on the firm-side; felt like I was sleeping on the floor. Couch looked & felt worn out. Not a deal-breaker for us but considering this is a Racquet Club complex we expected Tennis Channel to be available, especially since BNP Paribas was on that week.

Bed was super comfortable! Upon arrival the unit was pretty clean. Day 2 we had several uninvited guests - not something I am accustomed to at home. We were inundated with roaches 😕 (Not palmetto bugs, roaches!). Day 4 we left (2 days early). I advised the staff as I checked out. Now apologies, No, "How can we make it better", etc. I have tried multiple times to contact someone at the facility & that didn't accomplish a thing. Askedo for info to contact owners. Nothing.I do have multiple photos. The travel insurance won't cover the early departure either. Disappointed to say the least.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The check-in process is UNPLEASANT! I have been coming to HSaR for over 20 years and checking in has become very unfriendly in the last few years. I called about 11:30am to see if our unit was ready early. The man told me that there was no way he could check to see but sometimes guests are allowed to check in after 1pm if the unit is ready. So we arrive at 1:30 to find that the office is closed until 2pm for a meeting which he neglected to tell us about. We decide to wait the 30 minutes... only staff doesn't return until 3:30 and no one answers the number we were instructed to call. Customer service seems to be the least important factor. Many other vacation management companies are willing to contact the incoming guests with a simple text or email when/if their unit becomes available earlier than 4pm. It could a win/win situation if you would do that. Guests would feel special and be excited. I am quite sure that I am not the only person "wasting time" in Destin waiting to check in. And it would alleviate the rush at 4pm when everyone is trying to check-in. I don't see any down-side to doing this. Some management companies even request the clean-up company to try to complete the units with bookings first so that they can charge the guests 1/2 a night if the unit is available and the customer check-in is before 12 noon. That is "free money" for you. the unit is ready and sitting there empty. Why not capitalize on it! Put a clause in the rental contract "Please do not call and request your unit early. IF it is ready, we will notify you and offer early check-in for an additional fee of half of a one-night fee."

Nice property. The only issue I had was kitchen pans weren’t very good, and there were no cookie sheets. Otherwise, a very nice property right on the beach. Loved the view from our room.

Unit 203 needs serious attention. Trash in room when we entered, chunks of wall missing, mattress on sofa bed is about 2 inches thick and falls through springs when you lay on it. Jenky shower head with shotty pressure and even worse hot water supply. Weird looks like hand cut out sticker decorations in bathroom, they changed the beach chair procedure twice while we were there, the balcony screen door is really hard to open because of the disintegrating frame, the rub they describe in listing is actually filthy and matted to itself on ends, the beach and water had tons of trash washing up and hitting you in legs while in water. Because the beds both suck(bedroom one is hard and leaves you feeling bruised) we never had a good nights sleep. I have photos of everything detailed here so hit me up! Don't stay here!!

lovely long weekend!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Love Holiday Surf and Racquet; been coming here for over 20 years. Every condo has a few glitches and this is no different. Just a couple of things would improve this condo immensely. The couch is visible faded, stained in a few places and has horribly sunken cushions. Very uncomfortable. We had to sit in the upright chairs instead. The skillets are non-stick and are chipping, peeling which is unsafe to use. The kitchen utensils are somewhat lacking as well. We improvised to make eggs for breakfast. And the towels appear wonderful - big and fluffy, but when you use them they have a faint musky smell - time to replace or do some sort of treatment. These problems could be remedied fairly inexpensively. Maybe no one else has mentioned these issues and the owners aren't aware. Please know that I would return even with these issues. We do not expect perfection.
