This stunning 5,000 sq.ft. home rests in the prestigious private gated community of Destiny West.“Cake by the Ocean” is one of Destin's most architecturally iconic beach homes and boasts 180 breathtaking degrees of unobstructed gulf views. Both the interior and exterior of “Cake by the Ocean” has been given special attention with luxurious and tastefully electric decor perfectly placed throughout the home. “Cake by the Ocean” will surely be your perfect beachside oasis. This home has 6 bedrooms, 5.5 bathrooms, and sleeps up to 28 guests.

‘Evans Architects of Orlando’ was awarded the Aurora Award for outstanding building design for their work on this home. This home is designed with plentiful indoor and outdoor entertaining spaces. The saltwater heated pool and hot tub (heat is optional and an additional fee) are a stunning addition to this beachside home. A covered porch warmly greets all who enter.

On the first floor you will find a bright and airy Mother-in-Law Suite with built in full-over-full bunk beds, large double vanity bath suite and kitchenette with refrigerator. For further sleeping arrangements, there is a stylishly decorated King Suite overlooking the pool deck. Following the King Suite is a beautiful bedroom with a king-size bed and a twin-over-full bunk bed. You will hardly be able to contain your happiness when you see the amazing slanted ceiling, abundance of natural light and fun pops of color in this room. Additionally on the first floor is an elevator for your convenience, a beautiful wine fridge, and a lovely seating area for two near the entryway. The elevator (for additional fee) services all three floors.

The second floor features an open concept living and dining space with a spectacular chef’s kitchen and plentiful views of the beloved sugar white sands and shimmering waters of the Emerald Coast. The spacious, modern kitchen comes with stainless steel appliances and a breakfast bar that sits 5. Sliding glass doors retract on two full walls in the living space that lead onto the second floor deck with additional plush seating and amazing views. Allow the soothing ocean breeze to sweep into the room as guests lounge in the living area or dine at the dining area. The dining area features a pristine glass top table which comfortably sits 6. The open concept paired with the sliding doors leading onto the deck is absolutely perfect for mingling and conversing during gatherings. There is a half bath conveniently located off all common areas.

Find your indoor tropical oasis in the second floor Master King Suite which features gorgeous decor and access to the second floor deck through a large sliding glass door. This suite features queen-over-queen bunks and a lavish private bathroom with a jacuzzi tub. There is also a half bath located on this floor.

On the third floor is a bunk room with three queen-over-queen bunks, sleeping a total of 6 guests. Also on this level is a pool table, bar with seating for 4, and a kitchenette including an ice maker, refrigerator and sink. You will love the private, shaded balcony with lounge chairs and bench seating. From this balcony you will enjoy breathtaking, unobstructed views of the famous Florida sunrises and sunrises over the Gulf.

Perfect Beach week for large family
Everything was well suited for the 23 people in my family for a week at the beach. So nice to have plenty of room for each of my family groups to have their own king size beds and room for their children in queen bunk beds. The kitchen is wonderful to cook and serve everyone. All the porches are amazing to hang out on with views of the beach or pool. The pool was perfect for our group. Plenty of parking in the driveway. The whole family loved it all.

Our family of 7 loved our stay here. Indoors and out, the house offers spacious, inviting areas for gathering, dining with family, as well as equally cozy nooks for reading or napping. Close proximity to the beach and pool were highlights for the teens, and the neighborhood was a perfect place to walk our little dog every day. Our host promptly answered every question, and our only complaint is that the week went by much too fast. If you are looking for an enchanting house with gorgeous ocean views on THREE levels, this is the one.

This home is incredible, the views of the sea are perfect from all levels of the home. The owner went out of his way to make sure everything was exactly what we wanted in our trip. Already booked again and was not planning on it, we can not wait to get back to this beautiful home!

Good vacation home
Great property with perfect location and amenities. The communication with the owner and manager was excellent. We had four kids with us and they really enjoyed the pool. The access to the beach is within walking distance and the views are breathtaking. Cleaning could've been improved a little, bathrooms were dusty and the bed lining smelled dirty, we had to wash them, but other than that everything was good.

Disappointing
There is a lot to like about this property. The pool is beautiful and ideal for small children with a large wading area. The beach is across the road within easy walking distance. The disappointing part of our week pertained to the house being listed as "wheelchair accessible". Although I stressed ahead of time that the elevator was essential, it was not working between the second and third floor during our stay. Even worse, neither the elevator's doorway or car was large enough for a standard wheelchair. It would be useful for a guest that has mobility limitations but not for anyone in a wheelchair. To list this property as "wheelchair accessible" is inaccurate and misleading.

An exceptional vacation rental to celebrate an outstanding achievement
Our extended family gathered from WA, CA, MI, TN, AR & AL to celebrate my son’s 20 year retirement from USMC. The house was perfect for several large gatherings as well as quiet, restful relaxation. Chuck, the owner, was very helpful and easy to work with. The location is great for beach access, surf fishing, taking walks and across street from a restaurant & beach bar. Chuck, the owner was very helpful, friendly and easy to work with.

Amazing house with an equally amazing pool and unobstructed ocean views.
Just had our wedding on the beach in front of the house and reception poolside on the patio. It was truly an unforgettable week thanks to this exceptional home and the customer service provided by the homeowner. The views from each deck are breathtaking and the house has ample indoor and outdoor space. This house is truly unique with the blue roof and large outdoor space with pool while you can still see the beach.

We have been coming to Destin for 10 years. By far my family loved this house the best The covered patio areas was nice and the pool and hot tub was phenomenal. The beach access was easy and just a few steps away. The owner Mr Barone was always available to speak with me personally. Almost felt like I knew him personally. Super great guy. We will definitely return.

I was impressed with personal communication with owner, Chuck..especially because Novid 19 scare. He offered suggestions and options but in the end our family decided to traveled to Destine, FL...We were happy with the house, the number of bedrooms and the wonderful pool area, & walking distance to Crab Trap restaurant ... That pool area was the best we had in a rental ! We would go back!! Family from WI

Unable to have the jets in hot tub and had trouble with heating pool and hot tub. The elevator was broken. We have a man with Parkinsons disease. He needed the elevator and your advertisement listing you had one is the reason we choose your home.

Exactly what we were looking for
This is the first time I have ever left a review for anything. this house was perfect. The location was perfect! The beach across from the property was great for the babies that enjoyed the small sandbars and wading pools they created. The house had plenty of room for everyone to enjoy a comfortable bed. The kitchen and living room was amazing with beautiful views of the ocean. we would open the sliding doors and enjoy our lunch and breakfast every day. I cannot say enough about this home. I can not wait to come back next year.

The absolute PERFECT vacation spot!
Our family of 18 met from several different states to enjoy a week together at Cake by the Ocean. The owner was amazing to work with and answered any questions we had prior to booking. The location of the home was perfect, especially for my dad who is ill but still managed to make it down to the beach with us several days. The home is beautifully decorated and included little details we appreciated like labeled light switches, etc. We informed the owner of one small detail like a leaking faucet and he had someone there to fix it within hours. We truly couldn’t have asked for a better experience, and hope to book with Chuck again in the future if he will have us back.

Wonderful location with views across the bay.
The house is very nice. Anything you need from the property owner, he is willing to make certain you get it! For those with larger families or friends he has a large washer & dryer which is a huge help with all of the towels! The house sleeps everyone comfortably. There is an elevator but we did not use it (it may be good for those with a lot of luggage!). There is a lot of room to store food and beverages. Kitchen is fully stocked with plenty of plates and glasses for a big group meal. The pool area is very relaxing! The hot tub was our favorite spot in the evenings. The outside patio areas are well furnished with shade if you need it. There is a grill as well. The high school kids liked the fact that they could walk or bike to meet up with their friends (there are several golf cart rentals nearby, but we did not see the need). Biggest pain in the rump is that the bridge between Pensacola and Destin was down so you have to take a detour from Pensacola airport to the house (though you can fly into Destin - we were just too late booking!).

A Magical Home in a Perfect Location
I wanted to take my family of four children, and their children to a home on a beach large enough for us all. I knew it would be costly, but it had been many years since we were all together all at one time, all in one perfect place. This was that time. This was that place. It is a week I will long remember, as will all of us who were there. Imagine a home with enough master suites to accomodate all, beds for every child, and some left over, a heated, multi-level pool with a hot-tub at the apex large enough for nearly all, perfectly positioned between the home and the 64 degree ocean, only steps away. Imagine luxurious rooms with high-end lighting and furniture, expansive outdoor spaces with seating more commonly found in the Ritz Carlton than a rental home. Imagine no longer. This home is all that and more. The only thing that could have made it more perfect was if the world were tilted twenty degrees more on its axis so that we could see the sun setting more directly from the cushioned setting of the second-story covered deck rather than running across the street to the beach to capture the image slightly further to the west. You really can't appreciate the convenience from the pictures. You walk out from the first level, past the pool, to the gate. You open the gate. Immediately infront of you is the crosswalk with a speed bumb that forces the cars to automatically slow. You cross the street, then an elevated board walk; before you is nothing but sugar-sand beach. Do it

The Matson family vacation
I recently stayed at this lovely home during July 4th week. There had been a wedding the week before. Things got out of hand and the renters for the week before messed up the elevator. I rented this house because of the elevator. My 83 year old father is not mobile, so when we arrived and found out the elevator would not work, we were very upset. We contacted the owner and he had no idea that it was down. There were no living areas on the first floor(only bedrooms). This caused my father to not be able to eat with us or hang out . I pretty much cried all week. Chuck and his wife felt terrible and I actually felt bad for them as well. They were so nice and understanding and they handled the situation not only professionally but with their heart. It was an unfortunate circumstance beyond their control but I would rent from them again for sure. The house was beautiful, location was perfect, if the elevator had not been an issue, it would have been a perfect week. I am rating this a five star for what it could have been.

The house was nice but there a few issues with the property that made our stay less comfortable. When we arrived the owners vehicle was parked in the driveway blocking parking that we needed. We also had to move furniture ourselves around in the garage to be able to fit any cars in the 2 car garage. One of the 4 bedrooms on the 1st floor did not have any vents from the heating or cooling system. There was a wall unit that did not emit any heat at all so the room was freezing at night. The half bath on the 2nd level wasn’t in good working condition from the beginning. When I arrived and walked up the steps I heard the toilet running. I jiggled the handle and it stopped but as we used it that first day, it wouldn’t flush and we were having to pour water into the tank to flush it. Also we discovered that there was a grey mouse living on the 2nd floor deck! He would come out I guess looking for food so that cut down on our use of the outside patio space for sure bc several of my family members were afraid and disgusted. I contacted the owner the next day about all of these complaints and he said that the he leaves the truck parked there and no one local had keys to move it. He doesn’t have a local maintenance person to assist with any issues. He told me that he could walk me through any repairs that needed to be done, which I declined. We just decided to not use the half bathroom for the remainder of our stay. When I told him about the mouse he told me that he couldn’t do anything about it and as long as it’s outside we shouldn’t be worried about it. I know he knew that there was a rodent problem before I made him aware of it bc there was rat poison under the cabinet in the laundry room and there was mouse poop in the drawers in the 3rd floor bar area.I was flabbergasted that he didn’t see any issue with the rodent living on his rental property or that he wasn’t trying to rectify the problem AT ALL! He said that a hawk may swoop down and get it. At that point I realized that he wasn’t worried about rectifying any of the issues we had until he came down the Florida himself to do the repairs, which was not going to be during our stay. The owner was a really nice guy, he just didn’t have enough local resources for his renters.

Spacious, rooms for every family. Great pool and outdoor area. Open floor plan kitchen, dining and living room. Out the back gate and just few steps to an amazing beach. Would definitely rent again. Thanks for a wonderful week!

Beautiful Home
We had a wonderful week at Cake by the Ocean! Best location ever! The manager was so easy to reach and talk to! Our beverage fridge quit working the first day and it was replaced within 2 hours! The kids loved the pools! My 18 month grandson walked all over in the kiddie pool! I would highly recommend this property to anyone!!

Can’t give “Cake” enough stars to say how much we loved this place! Super clean, gorgeous decor, fantastic views, and the location is perfect. We have found our new family favorite! We’ll be back!
