Beautiful location
Beautiful quaint little cottage next to the river.
Parking was a bit restricted as the roads are very narrow and busy around the property. Opened the door to a very strong damp smell that greeted us upon each return, had to open a few windows. There wasn’t any ventilation in the kitchen or bathroom which could be contributery. The spiral staircase could have been made safer by adding grips as the small wooden steps were very slippery. There was no toilet paper or bin bags/liners or a tea towel at the property which was very disappointing, but handsoap and detergent was in abundance. I was asked to buy toilet roll for reimbursement, but after a 6 hour journey at 7pm was not agreeable. Teabags and coffee, possibly left by previous tenants, were stale. We declined to use the heavily stained and soiled table mats for use at the breakfast bar. But found the hob and oven sufficient for our needs. There was only a two seater sofa in the living area when there were three of us. The single childs bedroom had unsightly wires across the room to a router. Bathroom facilities were good althoughthe towels were bery small. There was lots of noise, children shouting, loud tv, from neighbours on both sides as I presume that sound proofing was not factored in with older properties. The bedding was very clean but the beds were too soft and uncomfortable for us I’m afraid. We had to ask housekeepers from another property to help us to lock the front door as we were unable to contact anyone.
