The Sunny Townhome is a realization of our long-held dream of hosting friends (and strangers, who become friends).
Less than a mile from Olde Town Arvada, 15 mins from Downtown Denver, less than 30 mins to Boulder, minutes to running, biking, and hiking trails, our home is a perfect base for your adventures.
If you prefer to stay in, enjoy your private backyard or balcony, cook a meal, or read a few books.
The mountains, the city, and dark skies are perfect companions at The Sunny Townhome.
The space
This is a two-level home with two spacious bedrooms and a full bath at the garden level, and a large living, half bath, and open kitchen upstairs. All rooms have large windows that, on a good day, let in plenty of sunshine.
Standing at the kitchen window, you look into the backyard, which you also have access to. Watch the squirrels play, admire seasonal wildflowers, or gaze at the mountains in the distance. The kitchen has everything you need to cook a meal (or many).
The living room faces east and can be a great spot to meditate or simply watch the sunrise. If you are more of a nightbird, we have plenty of books to keep you company, a PS4 gaming console, and a 50" television you can use. The living room is furnished with a study table and chair so you can "work from home", write postcards to friends and family, or maybe even begin your next book! The living room opens out to a street-facing balcony, which is perfect to enjoy your cup of coffee or tea. Sometimes owls visit the tall trees and you can hear them hooting.
Go down to a full bath and two bedrooms. The bedrooms have queen size beds and comfortable Tuft & Needle mattresses. Both bedrooms have closets for you to keep your things. One window looks out to the backyard while the other looks out to the street. Both bedrooms are designed with the intent to make you feel comfortable and put you in a relaxing state of mind, so you are refreshed to explore our beautiful state every day.
There is a fenced-in backyard with an umbrella and chairs that are all yours to use. The backyard access is from outside the house, so this isn't direct access. You will step outside the main door and see a gate to the backyard on your left. It's a perfect place to eat a meal, read a book, or just bask in the sun. We live next door and have an uber-friendly dog, who loves people. He may bark initially but only wants to say hello. He will calm down quickly. If you'd like to meet him, please let us know. He loves everyone and everyone we know loves him more than they love us!
Guest access
You will need a car/bike to get around.
The house has a carport that can park two cars easily (one car will have covered parking). The Olde Town Aravda train station is just a mile away from us and the train can take you to downtown Denver within minutes. There is enough parking available by the station. There are also plenty of bike-friendly routes, including the Ralston Creek Trail, which you can choose to explore. We also love to go walking to Homestead Park, which is less than a ten-minute walk from us and is a good place to get your morning workout.
Other things to note
Pet Details: We love all animals, but can accommodate only dogs. Please note that Airbnb has a new feature that allows us to show a pet fee upfront, however, this feature only displays a total amount and not a per night amount.
The current amount you see is based on our average price. If you plan to bring a dog, your charges may vary. We charge a $20 fee for each pet per night. Please feel free to message if you have questions.
We have a five-year old mutt, who loves to make friends, but if you'd rather not be friends, let us know and we will keep him close to us. If you bring a dog, please don't let them get on the couch or beds. If your dog would like to play, we are happy to introduce our dog.
There are dog poop bags in the backyard. You will see it affixed to the fence on your right once you enter the yard. Please pick up after your dogs each time.
Owner Details: We live in the townhouse next door and can be as available or scarce as you like. We share the backyard fence and have a common wall.
Noise: We want you to have an absolutely wonderful time here, but please be respectful of our neighbors.
Smoking: You are free to smoke outdoors, but please don't smoke inside the house.
Stairs: There are two flights of stairs with about seven steps each. Both flights have hand railing.
Extra Guests: With its two bedrooms, a pull-out couch and 1.5 bathrooms, our townhome is ideal for five people. However, if you'd like to bring an additional guest, please enquire first + there is a $25 per additional guest per night.
