Coastal Del Mar studio with fabulous views - 10 min walk to the beach!

This newly renovated studio apartment has gorgeous panoramic views of Torrey Pines State Reserve, Peñasquitos Lagoon and the Pacific Ocean. Enjoy the scenery from your windows, private balcony, and large deck. Located in a residential neighborhood, it's a short walk to a coffee shop, 4 restaurants, and Torrey Pines State Beach. Nearby Torrey Pines State Reserve has miles of trails. for every ability. Drive 2 miles north to the seaside village of Del Mar or hop on the I-5 or 56 freeways to easily access within minutes all that beautiful San Diego has to offer.

The studio is bright and airy; windows and skylights provide lots of natural light but black out shades provide darkness when you want to sleep in. We've tried to provide everything we like in a home-away-from home! The modern kitchen has what's generally needed to prepare, cook and store food, but if there's an additional appliance you like to use, we're happy to lend it. The furnishings are contemporary, and we're told that the bed and bath linens are especially comfy. Washer and dryer are on property. Store your golf clubs, bike or surf/paddle board in the secure garage. Beach chairs, towels and umbrella are provided, and there is an outdoor shower to wash off sand. Off-street driveway parking spot is included.

The studio is located above our detached garage. You access it by entering our shared, enclosed courtyard, then have one flight of stairs to your front door and private deck. Motion detector lights illuminate your way after dark.

- Like many cities, San Diego has a short stay Transient Occupancy Tax (10.5 %) which by law Vrbo must add to stays less than one month. Stays of more than a month are exempt from the tax.

Although our setting is generally very tranquil, there are noises out of our control that we would like you to be aware of. Monday mornings the trash pickup is at 7:00 am; trains occasionally traverse the Peñasquitos Lagoon valley and sometimes aircraft from MiraMar Airbase stray from their normal flight path. All these occurrences are commonplace in coastal Del Mar; we hope they won't impact your stay with us.

Carol and Paul are amazing hosts. Welcoming, thoughtful, and truly a pleasure to stay with. It feels like a home away from home and is hard leaving this slice of So Cal, but we will return next year. If I could give more than 5 stars I would.

We had a wonderful week long stay in beautiful Del Mar. The studio has a fantastic location, convenient to everything with a great view. The apartment was perfect, and Carol was so helpful and kind. It was comfortable, clean and well equipped. We made good use of the park pass. Absolutely loved Torrey Pines! My daughter and I felt safe and the location was perfect for exploring the southern coast. (We had a car.). Spent a day at Balboa Park, saw seals and sea lions in La Jolla, enjoyed the sandy Solana beaches and the towns of Cardiff by the Sea and Encinitas. Highly recommend this lovely place!

We had a wonderful three week stay in this beautiful private studio. Carol and Paul were gracious, very responsive, and helpful hosts. We especially appreciated the proximity to the ocean and Torrey Pines State Park and our two terraces, both with sea views. Several nearby restaurants and a convenience store were handy and delightful Del Mar is just a short drive away. This is the perfect retreat for relaxation, hiking, and exploring San Diego’s many attractions!

A completely delightful stay from start to finish! It feels so safe, so clean, and so well thought out to maximize comfort. Peace, serenity and a lovely host couple
The studio has so much light, it is heaven sent. The beautiful windows allow you to look out on the preserve and contemplate for hours. It was so destressing, I felt like I went to a spa for the week. There is a beautiful deck to sit out on and a smaller balcony to enjoy your morning coffee. Carol and Paul could not be more accomodating hosts. Two of the most interesting and kind people I have had the pleasure of staying with.

Great find in Del Mar!
We really enjoyed our three week stay at this Vrbo. Exceptionally clean and well stocked with beautiful views. The location is fantastic with a short walk to the Torrey Pines State Beach, a coffee shop and a few restaurants, plus easy access to touristy coastal towns as well as downtown San Diego. The hosts, Carol and Paul, are super gracious and thoughtful. Del Mar is a lovely town with nice restaurants, parks, and beaches, plus a nice farmers market on Saturdays. Our dog really enjoyed our morning walks at the Del Mar Dog Beach. We would love to stay here again and highly recommend this Vrbo!
