"This adorable house was right on the water, with a beautiful view & beach access! I enjoyed sitting on the deck & looking at the water. The décor and updates to the home were fabulous considering it was built in the 1950's. It was clean, kitchen well stocked, bed comfortable, & plenty of linens. I appreciate the warning about the navy planes. I checked the flight schedules in advance as recommended & nothing was planned. I wasn't sure what to expect. I have no idea what is typical for the planes taking off from this NAS (or any other for that matter). Flights take off & this house is in the flight path, just north of the runway that was being used (you can see it on google maps). The planes taking off were mostly F16's or F18's. They are close & you get a close view! On Tues, 4/15 from 5-8pm, 3 fighter jets took off; from 8-10pm 22 took off, there was 1 fly over. Wed, 4/16 from 9a-1pm, 21 took off, 3 fly overs (including a helicopter). From 8pm-1030pm 5 took off, 4 fly overs. On Thurs, 4/17 from 845-11am 7 took off (including a commercial looking jet plane), 6 fly overs. I was curious about the decibel levels. Using an online decibel meter, when the jets took off it was 98 dB in the house with all the windows & doors closed. It was 108 dB inside the house with the bedroom windows & backdoor open. Sitting outside the house it was 110 dB. To be clear, the owners have no control over this. I anticipate some days have less flights taking off than others, it is an active NAS."

"This is our second time staying at the Bluff and it is the perfect weekend getaway. The hosts are magic in the kitchen, from the breakfast to the complementary baked goods, everything we ate was so yummy. We stayed in the baker room last time, and the Salish room this time. Both were perfect, but book the baker if you want a little more space during your stay. The property has a perfect little hot tub overlooking the ocean, and the limited rooms on the property allowed us to pretty much have the property to ourselves the whole time. Every corner of the room and property has cool art and quirks, truly beautiful! Come stay here for your next anniversary, birthday, or just a quick escape from the city life! I have no complaints!! "Had a lovely week with our cats; the work space was great because my spouse had to work for a lot of it. The house is close enough to both Anacortes and north Whidbey Island that exploring was easy even with work taking up some of the time. The house is lovely, cozy, and totally set up for cooking, enjoying the fire and hot tub (even in the cold). Our cats loved the sun and big open living room space; really appreciated the flexibility of being able to bring them! For those coming from further afar, just be aware that Dewey is in the region where Whibey air base practice flights fly over which are cool, but can be loud for pets (our cats get it much worse during SeaFair at home, so they only hid maybe once when it got closer than usual). The emus down the hill in the neighboring yard, as mentioned in other reviews, are a real treat :-). Highly recommend! Would go back in a heartbeat! "
