Located in a peaceful area along Lake Chickamauga, you'll find fabulous fishing + water toys + bird watching including Eagles/Osprey + amazing views from Great Room/Kitchen/Master Bedroom! We even updated the Great Room furniture and new king sized bed in the Master Bedroom. You're in luck with high speed fiber optic internet WiFi at this home!

Sleeping Arrangements:
- Master Bedroom = King Bed + Single roll-away bed in Closet with En Suite Bathroom + Smart TV
- Guest Bedroom 1 = Queen Bed + Family Bathroom + TV with Netflix
- Guest Bedroom 2 = Queen Bed + Family Bathroom
- Living Room = Sofa Queen Bed

The private covered boat dock with electrical hook-up provides exceptional access to fishing and other water sports seasonally. Access to power at the dock means you can recharge your boat batteries so you're ready for fishing each day! 2 local boat launches, one mile up the lake(Goodfield public boat ramp) or down the lake (Cottonport Marina), mean you can arrive by boat around mid-April to October depending on TVA.

Complementary use of the 2 Kayaks + 2 Standup Paddle Boards and Paddle Boat are available seasonally for our guests as well. While lake levels vary October to April affecting use of the dock seasonally, the boat launches and lake use are available year around. Download TVA’s app for information on lake levels and other helpful information.

There is plenty of parking in the driveway for 3 vehicles with boat trailers (please back down the driveway when towing trailers) with additional parking in the garage. A deck for sunning, snacking or watching the kids play overlooks the boat dock with a 3-person swing/bed and umbrellas for your comfort. The veranda off the Master Bedroom overlooks the water and dock, or enjoy the generous front porch or back patio. Outdoor ceiling fans offer cool comfort on the porches.

The kitchen is convenient and fully equipped, and the great room design ensures even the chef is included in the conversation and fun. Table with seating for 6 along with 2 bar stools at the breakfast bar. Comfortable, new seating in the great room for watching the Smart TV apps or live channels includes 2 sofas and chaise lounge. This home feels expansive and comfortable with vaulted ceilings and wonderful natural light.

Master bedroom has a new King sized bed (Oct 2021) and 2 Guest bedrooms + Sleeper Sofa have Queen sized beds. All bedrooms have generously sized closets for plenty of storage.

A large lawn area out front gives plenty of space for yard activities including badminton. Two patio areas, front and back, are great places for relaxing and/or BBQ on the gas grill. Enjoy your hot cocoa, s'mores or a glass of wine with friends and family around the outdoor fireplace on the front patio when fall brings those cool evenings.

Dayton, Athens, Decatur, Cleveland are close by with restaurants, shopping, groceries and fuel, and Chattanooga and Knoxville are each one hour's drive for attractions, concerts, historical locations, live music, etc.

Even if you aren't a "bird-watcher" the Osprey and Bald Eagles will amaze you during the day and the river otter will charm you at dusk. You'll love the beautiful sunsets over the water at the end of each day. This quiet neighborhood provides a peaceful environment for catching up on your sleep. Close your eyes, relax! Want to bring your friendly family dog along? Just contact us for prior approval. Just a few steps out the back door and you're at the covered boat dock for water activities. Work or go to school remotely? You're in luck with high speed internet at this home! The private dock provides exceptional access to fishing and other water sports seasonally. Access to power at the dock means you can recharge your boat batteries so you're ready for fishing each day.

We enjoyed staying in your home! The location was great and the house was very comfortable and clean. There were so many extras, such as shampoo, conditioner, lotion etc one of the better places we’ve ever stayed. The water equipment was wonderful, we truly enjoyed our stay and would love to return!!

Our family of four highly enjoyed our stay. The house is amazing! We brought our boat and our teenage boys loved going fishing everyday. We had a great time making memories as a family! We were relaxed and stress free!

By far the best I've stayed at. The home was everything I thought it would be and more. Rex was an amazing host and stayed in contact with me the whole time. I would give more stars if possible. If you're looking for a place on the river this is where you need to stay.

Beautiful Home
This house will make you smile. It is so well done you can't help but feel relaxed. This is the second time I have rented it and will for sure do it again. The home is in such a quite spot and the view of the lake is breathtaking. If you are looking for a great place to stay this is your house for sure.

We stayed at River House on Mile Marker 514 on a fall fishing trip. Debbie and Rick were very accommodating. They greeted us upon arrival. I would recommend this house for any stay on the lake.

Amazing Place!
My family had a wonderful time at Rick n Deb's Mile Marker 514. The place is beautiful inside and out. Very clean and updated and we felt right at home at this place. We brought the boat and enjoyed some fishing, watched all the birds out the amazing views of the river, and even had a few whitetail deer run through. We would love to stay at this place in the future. Thanks again to Rick n Deb for sharing their lovely home and being amazing hosts!

Great overnight stop
We stayed here for 1 night to break up a long drive between Michigan and Florida. The owners were great, the place was super clean, and had everything we needed. They go above and beyond stocking the home with various sundries you might need in case you forgot something. Deb and Rick were absolutely great, I would definitely stay here again. I'm even going to look at summer options in the future to enjoy the water access.

My son was in a wedding at Howe farms which was about 25 mins away, we could not have asked for a better place to stay, house was very clean and perfect for us! Setting was very peaceful and quiet. Sat out on deck watching the geese and ospreys almost every morning. Beautiful sunset as well. Loved it! Highly recommend!

This is an amazing river side house with beautiful views and many amenities. It’s at the end of a circle and offers privacy, quiet and seclusion. The description tells you everything you can expect, but not what is not included. We didn’t know to bring creamer (there was no dry powder), though there was coffee and sugar. Honestly, the house was the nicest we’ve stayed in, so no creamer, no big deal. We hope to stay again!

A Beautiful spot
My wife and I enjoyed our stay. Checkin was a breeze, Rex was a great host, and the property/house was beautiful (we really enjoyed watching the osprey nest across the cove). We parked our boat in the covered dock which made fishing very easy. We'd go out in the morning, come back for lunch and then go back out to catch more fish in the afternoon. My wife worked from the house on their high speed internet while I fished a two day tournament. The property is located conveniently 20 minutes from Dayton municipal park/boat ramp, the location of many major bass tournaments launch sites.. if you don't want to deal with tournament launch chaos, it's an easy 8 mile run to blast off in Richland Creek. Family Reunion on the River
First of all, the home is immaculate and as described on VRBO. Outstanding reno with numerous upgrades and great decor. We were 100% pleased with the home and property. Very peaceful with beautiful views. We were in Decatur, Tn to celebrate a family reunion for the weekend and had a wonderful time. The house was a great place to unwind at the end of each day. Debbie/Rick were great to work with and even recommended several places for us to have lunch/dinner. We thoroughly enjoyed Monkey Town Brewery in Dayton. The beer and the food were excellent! The prices very reasonable and our servers both times were awesome. Also, visited Cookies and Cream on 4th. We had a great time chatting with the owners, super folks, the ice cream and cookies, were delicious...mmmm. I highly recommend the "River House at Mile Marker 514.

Rex’s house was BEAUTIFUL, the view was spectacular, the home was clean and spacious and we felt safe. We will definitely recommend this house to all our friends and family! We will ALWAYS stay here if the house is available when we visit family.
