If you are visiting I suggest you try Boquete where you will be pleased. If spending a few nights in David then Alcala is certainly acceptable. However the AC in first room didn't work and they immediately upgraded me to a larger room and I had no problem. Note that the hotel is on the second floor and there is no elevator."
