Recently renovated and fresh. Staff trying to limit costs results in some lack of attention. Seems like two people trying to run the whole place thus front desk sometimes unstaffed, regular cleaning delayed. Stay was quiet and comfortable.

A pretty average place. Room was nice and it was clean but the floors squeaked and there was a very heavy footed guest above us. Staff was friendly. Hotel is awkward to get to and the parking lot was not cleared of snow well.

Not the hotels fault but make sure the heater stays on all night I froze and since I did freeze it aggravated my chronic pain issues and I got so sick I couldn’t visit my grandkids and one of my grandkids it was her birthday. We live 3 hrs away from them. The hotel was nice and clean And the staff was great. The free breakfast was great.

we had issues checking in, it took almost 30 minutes. We found out that the pool was closed, we had been told that it was open. We walked to the room and it smelt of smoke and it was a no smoking hotel. We got to the room it was two queen beds and there was one pillow and no blankets, the bathroom light wouldn't come on, the walls were gross had stuff splaterd all over. We asked for it to be taken care of and nothing was done. we had no were else to go as everythign else was booked. This place shouldn't be open.

This hotel was terrible. Super run down, broken stuff everywhere you look (tiles broken or missing from walls, floors, missing trim, torn curtains, holes in walls, missing paint). The room did not look at all like the photos. The bedding was stained, the microwave and tv wouldn’t turn on, the thermostat was so broken you could read the temperature on it. All the outlet covers were gone and replaced by weird Sox-plug adapters that look like a major fire hazard. No towels, no toiletries. No breakfast, even though the listing said there was. So creeped out by this place. I won’t ever stay there again, and Hotels.com should really look into it before letting anyone else book here. The photos, at the very least, should be updated to show how awful, dirty and run down this place is before someone else is tricked into thinking they were booking something else.

We reserved a king suite for the evening. Upon check in we were told they no longer had any kings and so they we would give us a queen at no extra charge. Isn’t that a downgrade? Get to the room and go to use the restroom. The ceiling about the tub is covered in black mold and the toilet doesn’t flush. Upon further inspection the internal elements of the toilet were missing. When we notified the front desk of this she exclaimed that she wasn’t surprised. The room still had remnants of the previous guests- long black hair on the floor, a child’s sock on the floor, food in the drawer. One of the queen beds had a fitted sheet that had been used to the point that all areas that had been previously stained were literally just threads and the bed spread was stained. It was a holiday weekend and unfortunately this was pretty much the only hotel available in the area.

It was apparent before I even walked in the door that this was not going to be a pleasant hotel but I vastly underestimated how disgusting it could be. There is a decent AmericInn in Traverse City so I expected a couple steps below a Hampton Inn type hotel. This was not a couple of steps - it was falling into a neglected root cellar. The cigarettes-and-??? smell of the room overpowered me at first. Then the light didn’t go on at first before blinking on and off for a few seconds as I stared at a red wall. That was a scene from a horror movie right there. The deadbolt would not turn. The room was just not clean. There had been basic maid service beforehand but it was just deep-down filthy: Mold in the shower, something disturbing spattered all around the inside of the bathroom door frame, sink counter that I put a towel on so I didn’t have to ponder whatever it was, stain on the lounge chair. The sheets looked washed but old, graying, and thin. I kept on all the lights that worked to deter potential critters; a couple of the lamps were nonfunctional. Obviously I was too exhausted to do anything but sleep. When I woke up at 4:40 I left quickly. On the plus side, the Starbucks on the corner opens at 5.

Worst stay ever - skip this hotel
I have stayed at a number of AmericInn hotels and have had a lovely experience. So when I went to Davenport I chose to stay at an AmericInn as well. This hotel was truly terrible. The front desk staff got in a fight while checking me in, there was only one bath towel and two hand towels in the first room I was given, there was not enough soap, no shampoo, and the ac didn’t work. There was no phone in the room so I had to go down to the front desk to see if could get another room. The woman who helped me was wonderful and got me another room with great ac. However, there were only two pillows on the bed and the desk chair had a stain on it that looked like blood. There was also a dirty washcloth on the shower curtain rod, which I discovered when I showered. It’s like the people who are running this hotel have never been to or stayed at a hotel and have no idea how to prepare a room for guests. This was the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at and I travel a fair amount.
