I stayed in this cottage as it is sort of close to Saint Simons Island. Upon arriving and making sure we were good to go, I noticed there are only a few towels and washcloths. Also had 0 trash bags and almost no toilet paper. Was told by the property manager that people take advantage so they don't keep it stocked with hardly anything. That is not a good way to keep people coming back to your rental. Friendly lady and all but things like that should be there upon guests arrival. The back outside window pain is broken. Didn't feel very safe in this rental at all. One of the bathroom sinks hardy drains, the bathtub was nasty... this place needs some serious TLC because it has a lot of potential.
I had to call the owner for the address, call the property manager about where to find a key, the property manager again to find out if it is standard for us to provide our own toilet paper and trash bags, the owner about the window, property manager about the window. Holy crap. Then the owner called and asked when we were leaving and if it was a holiday weekend, and it was a few days before 4th of July. This is the most I've ever had to communicate with owners and property managers for a rental, let alone a one night rental. Usually there is a welcome book, list of nearby businesses, sign in book, or something along those lines. Not sure how this place has such good reviews. I've rented through this website many times so I've come to understand what to expect when using it.
Also it is about 45 minutes from the small downtown area of Saint Simons Island so keep that in mind. I wish I had better things to say but I just was not impressed at all.
