My week long stay did not add to my souvenir collection as I will have liked. While I understand the hospitality industry has taken a heavy blow providing guests with the amenities and services described should be extended as such if not otherwise stated. Kiuruwi Executive Hotel's description of the amenities/services included a swimming pool, in-room premium satellite channels and iron w/ ironing board. I was told I will have to pay 20,000 tsh (close to $10 usd) to use the pool and I can only use the pool between 9am to 6pm. All channel viewing is controlled at the office so you must request what channel (not channels) you will like to watch. I stayed a total of 8 nights at this hotel and only on the eighth day did word get back to me that I can use the iron at no charge. The 1st seven days no one gave me the iron "upon request". At some point it must be accepted that this was simply false advertising on the part of Kiuruwi Exec. Hotel's management. Also I asked to be given a receipt after purchasing a small bottle of wine and the server chuckled and said ok. But I was never given a receipt. Other things things to note, the hotel is hard to find for vehicular operators and the two roads leading to the hotel are quite bumpy w/ scattered potholes. The corridor light intrudes into the room at night while sleeping so adjustments may be needed. The hotel is 20-25 minutes to Mlimani City mall. The one good thing about the hotel is that it is new. So everything is in working order.
