Trailside Cottage is directly on the Virginia Creeper Trail and Laurel Creek. Walk out the door for a bike ride or walk on the trail. This 3-bedroom, 2 bathroom vacation rental offers a fully equipped kitchen, den with futon, cozy living room, porch that views the river and a relaxing firepit. River access so bring your water tubes, kayaks and fishing poles.
Come and enjoy all Damascus and Abingdon have to offer and be sure to check out local brewery, distillery, winery and restaurants.
The space
This lovely rental can accommodate up to 7 guests. Completely furnished and beautifully decorated. Full kitchen, dishwasher, central heat/air. One bedroom has full bed and twin bed, one bedroom has a bunk bed (full & twin) and the master bedroom has a queen size bed. Have a den area with a futon that can be used to sleep. There are 2 full bathrooms one has a shower only. Beautiful large porch to enjoy your morning coffee and listen to the river. Smart TVs available in living room and 2 bedrooms. Feel free to access your streaming services, no cable. Gas grill available. Fire pit is available. Smoking is not permitted. No pets allowed.
This home is located directly on the Virginia Creeper Trail. You’re a short bike ride to downtown Damascus (2mi) and to the grocery store (1.2). Damascus is known best as Trail Town USA, where seven nationally known trails intersect within its borders, but it is so much more! Damascus and the surrounding areas offer hiking trails, kayaking, biking, local restaurants, brewery and winery.

Some local attractions:
* 15 minutes from Abingdon. Be sure to check out the Famous Barter Theater
* 20 to Beartree Lake
* 25 minutes to Bristol
* 40 minutes to Marion, Hungry Mother State Park
* 50 minutes to Grayson Highlands State Park.

Great place to stay and enjoy nature. Close to town to enjoy the activities there. The Virginia Creeper Trail is right in front of the house for easy access whether biking or hiking. Very clean and spacious with everything you’ll need for your stay.

Perfect Fit for Our Group
We had a wonderful stay at TrailSide Cottage. It was the perfect fit for our group and close to family in Damascus. We especially enjoyed relaxing outdoors, having dinner on the deck overlooking the river, and sitting by the firepit. We also met the host briefly and he was great!

Wonderful stay!
Owners are great! Perfect location! Right on the Creeper Trail and on the river. Close to town. Bungalow is wonderful and plenty of room for the five of us that stayed the long weekend. Will definitely be back!

A slow quiet weekend was exactly what our family needed to reset after the Holidays! House was very clean and nice. Plenty of space for the 6 of us. We hope to book again next year!

Cold But Awesome Trip, Great Cottage
Cozy, clean, and family friendly. We were able to hop on the VCT in the front yard and ride. Great river view in the back. It was cold so we tried Bristol Caverns on the first day and braved the cold for a great VCT ride on day 2. This house is in a perfect location, less than 2 miles from downtown Damascus. Owners checked on us. Great house with some character, would definitely stay here again.

Loved it!
The house was perfect for our group. Close to downtown Damascus and steps from the Creeper Trail. We enjoyed the house during our down time as well, playing games, relaxing and enjoying the outside areas. Beautiful views. I would highly recommend this for a stay in the area.

Great stay at this property. Located right on the river. The house was quaint and larger than it looks in the listing. Damascus is a little over a mile away. Emory & Henry about 20 minutes which was perfect. We would stay here again.

Cozy, Cute and Comfortable Cottage on Virginia Creeper Trail
We absolutely loved our stay in this adorable cottage with lovely outdoor areas for relaxing after a ride on the Virginia creeper trial. The The home is spacious enough and quite comfortable. There is a large covered porch with rockers, a really neat fire pit area and a deck over the Laurel Creek. We enjoyed being on the trail for easy access.

A great place to stay
The property was clean and roomy, with 2 bathrooms, 3 bedrooms (5 beds in all), a large living room and another sitting room. What’s more, it’s located right on the Virginia Creeper Trail. Right now, there’s a lot of construction on the highway that runs in front of the house, but this was not a problem or an inconvenience, and it won’t be happening forever. We enjoyed ourselves thoroughly.

Perfect Creeper Trail/Damascus spot!
This sweet little house is well appointed and perfectly located. We had more than enough room for our family of four. Could easily have brought a friend for each kid and been totally comfy. The owners are nearby and super friendly/helpful. We’d definitely come back!

Wonderful rental
Our stay was great. The rental was just what we needed for a weekend get away. Very peaceful. The place is well kept, clean and has all the amenities one needs. The owners are very cool as well. With access to the Virginia Creeper Trail right out the back door, one can walk or ride towards Abingdon or up to White Top. Sitting on the front porch that overlooks the river was very nice. Will definitely be back.

Stayed for Creeper Marathon
We were in town for the marathon, and the house was in a convenient location to the Creeper Trail. It was spotlessly clean and had plenty of kitchen equipment to prepare our pre race meals. The owners were extremely kind to give us a late check out to shower and change after the race before driving home. Highly recommend this rental!

Beautifully decorated. For a few small suggestions: Include type of coffee pot provided, in the amenities for the ad. More towel racks in first bathroom. Directions for the TV on using remotes (one for sound) cable, etc.

Very clean house
Our family enjoyed our stay in the house. It was very clean and the owners are close by and helpful but not in your way at all. Its an older house with tasteful updates and modernized. They are widening the main road so there is construction noise at times. The owners apologized for the noise, but that unfortunately comes with the growth the Creeper Trail brings. Theres a great porch to sit on and watch the river.

It was a very very cold Christmas Eve morning
We had previously rented a different house over looking the river,on Christmas Eve morning we woke up to frozen pipes,as my fiancé frantically panicked I hit onto vrbo and had this house liked already,I reached out and the owners returned my plee in minutes..The house was put together for us on an emergency fix for Christmas,to hear them say yes Will the pipes are working and you and your family can have Christmas brought tears to my eyes just when things looked bleak..The house was charming and warm,nicely decorated and very comfortable,the river out front looked like I should of brought a fishing pole..I cannot thank them enough for saving our Christmas..God bless you guys!!Thank you April and I Will be back!!
