"We had a lovely stay at this cottage. It is in a very secluded area and we enjoyed the quiet. The views of the loch are breathtaking! We enjoyed watching the pheasant run thru the yard daily. The bed is comfortable and we were very happy here! "

"This property was an absolute dream. Fantastic views of Loch Ness, walking distance to Urquhart Castle, spacious, quiet, peaceful and clean. It was a bit difficult to find for the first time in the dark as it gets quite dark in Scotland, but that was more due to my unfamiliarity with the area than the instructions that were given. "We were lucky enough to spend three nights at Four Winds. I really can’t think of anything else to say except it was perfect, so clean, so comfortable, so beautifully organized. "The property was amazing, immaculate and the surrounding area was stunning The property had everything needed for self catering with hand soap and loo roll in all the bathrooms We hired the hot tub which was great there was flip flops and dressing gowns available, the hosts attention to detail was superb I would definitely recommend this property for larger groups"

"This was the perfect cottage in beautiful surroundings. It was our base for the week whilst we explored Loch Ness and other nearby towns and places. The cottage itself is beautifully decorated and homely. The boating on loch Knockie was also an added bonus and enjoyed by all. Catherine was very helpful and always responded to any queries quickly. "I picked this place due to it being a good distance from all the places I aimed to visit. Just over an hour to Skye, Mallaig etc and less to Fort William and Glencoe. I was aware that there's not many shops nearby but I was well prepared. The place is spacious for a 1 or 2 person stay but possibly a bit tight for 4. Great parking close to accommodation. There were a few faults that shouldn't take long to fix. Catching front door. Internal doors that don't all stay shut, kitchen cupboard...

"Excellent location with great views of the canal locks. Fort Augustus is a great base to explore the West Highlands. Clean property. Only black mark was the hot water boiler failed every day of our visit. It became apparent that this was a long term issue which had not been addressed by the owner. Running hot water is a key essential for any property."

"We loved the relaxing lovely setting. The ability to hang out and have time with friends in a nice home and places to walk about was wonderful. We did find it challenging to shower daily with 4 adults when the only shower was in a bathroom off a private bedroom. It would be helpful to put a shower in the downstairs bathroom for all to use. Even if it is just a modified faucet with a hanging shower hose. Thank you for letting us stay in such a wonderful spot."

"Absolutely breathtaking location and scenery! The cottage is comfortable and extremely clean. All appliances worked with no problems. The few times we communicated with Catherine, at the beginning of the stay, were answered immediately and always friendly and a pleasure. A great location for exploring Loch Ness and Inverness. "To summarize in a nut shell it was a joke when we arrived that the place was creepy and that someone must have been murdered here because of all the stains in the carpets and dirty walls. No dish towels to dry dishes and no dishwasher tabs to use the dishwasher. No oven mitts to remove hot items from the oven, no dish soap or trash bags (they give you 1 but a family of 7 will use that in a heartbeat).
