"What a gem - from the outside, absolutely nothing special, but inside a delight. Fairly compact room but the high ceiling made it feel spacious. Very clean and an excellent shower. Friendly welcome, despite our limited French and the staff member's limited English - also very helpful in explaining the Sunday parking tariff outside the hotel. Good breakfast too. Definitely worth considering if you're looking for a stay in Lens."

"Le Château - Fresnoy en Gohelle was a dream experience. The owner clearly loves this home and takes pride in sharing with others. It was like we had our own home all to ourselves. The ground were stunning, decorations incredible, breakfast was wonderful, and the owner treated us with kindness and respect. This was one of best experiences while on our 12 day France vacation."

"Took me a minute as I've never checked in with a hotel computer before but it was easy. They offered a breakfast with good choices as well. We enjoyed dinner both nights at the Au Bureau Pub, it was a close walk and had great food."

"Stayed here overnight as we had tickets for the RC Lens football match. The hotel couldn't be better placed for the stadium. Literally across the stadium car park - which for myself with limited mobility was perfect. Though as a side note, the stadium seating is very steep, and was very difficult for me. "Service was excellent from start to finish. The gentleman that greeted us was efficient and throughout our stay helped the other staff with english translation. We could not fault him, I just wish we had asked his name to add his name to this review, he was on duty every day we were staying at the hotel. "Excellent small hotel with very well equipped mini studios. Most comfortable bed and best shower we have experienced for years. Good secure parking and excellent wifi. Small but very tasty breakfast included in very reasonable price. We will definitely stay again!"

"Where to start with this "hotel" the staff were pleasant enough. The pool is just a accident waiting to happen. Apart from wing nuts screwed into the side of the pool and a light hanging out of it's fitting there was the water pump that sucked my hand into it,as the cover was missing. I will be putting in a complaint with Expedia over this,Not a great experience overall. The room was nice just a little worn. I did get a good night's sleep though as the bed was big and cosy. "

"Excellent, very convenient town centre location in Arras. Staff really friendly, helpful and welcoming. Breakfast, although not a wide offering of cooked food, was more than sufficient as well as fresh and healthy. Scrambled eggs very well cooked. Would thoroughly recommend and would stop again."
