BOYD'S BEACH HOUSE:

One of the most unique absolute beachfront properties on the NSW South Coast. Once home to famed Australian artist Arthur Boyd and his family. You will enjoy direct Culburra Beach access from the property. Immerse yourself in the natural beauty and serenity of this stunning and well-appointed slice of South Coast heaven. Surfing, whale watching, fishing, exploring, cooking, long walks on the beach, painting or simply do nothing and unwinding, Boyd’s Beach House is one of a kind.

It is not hard to see how Arthur found the inspiration for his stunning landscape pieces when you soak in the views of the Shoalhaven from either the top floor, the beachside deck or the “lounge platform” perched on top of the dunes overlooking the beach.

Whether you are coming as a family, couples or for a romantic weekend escape, Boyd’s Beach House is the perfect, secluded get away all year round. Your home away from home. Quality of experience is what we pride ourselves on and this architect-designed property has been furnished with your comfort and convenience front of mind. Simply step inside, make yourself at home and enjoy the serenity.

Culburra Beach is a dog friendly beach. We are therefore a pet friendly property. Bring your four-legged friend and enjoy kms of unspoilt sand to run and play on. Please note: The sandy path to the beach can be a little steep for those who are not as agile.

With 3 queen beds across three separate bedrooms there is room for up to 6 guests. The house is split level with decks off each floor and a number of stairs between each level. The master bedroom has a private ensuite. There is a large open plan living with vaulted ceilings and an abundance of natural light. For the colder nights, enjoy our wood burning slow combustion fire with a good book and a bottle of red.

The kitchen is well appointed with dinnerware, stainless steel pots and pans, sharp knives and glassware. Grab some of the South Coast’s fresh local produce and cook up a storm.

Just under 2 hours out of Sydney and with the convenience of Nowra 15min away, Culburra is the ideal weekend or holiday escape.

Details of BOYD'S BEACH HOUSE

3 x Queen Size beds all of which are made up with quality linen, bedding, fixtures and fittings. Just walk in and relax.

The master bedroom retreat has its own living area and en suite with shower , toilet and basin and large flat screen TV..

The second bedroom has its own private deck. The third bedroom has built ins.

There is also Foxtel, Netflix and Wifi in the house.

Wood burning stove in winter; cross breeze, fans and multiple sunny and shaded areas to choose from in the summer

The upstairs sun-room is equipped with a sofa, cushions and throws . A room to relax in.

Or the iconic painting platform - now an outdoor seating area is a perfect morning coffee or twilight wine venue.

Please note that we are pet-friendly by prior arrangement. We expect dogs to be toilet trained, and to be kept off the furniture. While the property is not fenced around the perimeter, the house is dog friendly and we do have a fenced off area for your pooch to relax in. Guests are asked not to leave their dogs unattended in the house for long periods of time. And remember, the dog-friendly off leash beach is at your door step.

All linen and bath towels are included.

Activities

Just take your towel and follow the path on to the golden sand beach before breakfast, and come back to the house for an outdoor shower, hot or cold. Sip on coffee on " Arthur Boyd's painting platform" with breathtaking views across stunning Culburra Beach, & you may spot the dolphins.

Nearby Crookhaven inlet and Greenwell Point are ideal for fishing and for the one who is not catching anything, there's delicious "Award winning" fish & chips at Greenwell Point and a scrumptious seafood restaurant too.

Lovely destinations nearby are Currarong with Bosom's Beach - dog friendly.

On the way there, Honeymoon Bay is secluded and great for snorkeling & diving.

Jervis Bay is nearby for a day's outing with shops, beaches and cruises for whale watching in season.

Culburra has a Woolworths store open 7 days a week for all your needs. It is situated just behind the shops on the main road. There is also a sensational fish and produce market in Nowra called Nowra Fresh, open every day!

Beach front getaway
For an early Christmas present this year I got this awesome house for my adult kids coming in from interstate and my husband and 10 year old.It was everything we could’ve wished for and more. There’s plenty of room to go between inside and outside. Also a fire pit to hang out at and a walk over the hill to the beach.It was a home away from home and we all loved our stay!

Lovely well earned respite for the family
We had a great stay at Boyds - thoroughly enjoyed by our family and dog Apollo. Think it was his best holiday ever with such a great dog beach and lazing on the deck. Culburra Beach and surrounds just lovely. We hope to be back.

Weekend escape with our labrador
This was perfect for us. A dog friendly property that accepts a dog the size of a labrador with direct beach access. It was quiet, clean and hassle free with great views from upstairs. When the rain came - we napped and enjoyed the sound.

Fantastic!
We had a great stay at Boyds Beach House. Natalie had a few goodies in a basket for us on arrival which the kids loved! The location was fantastic, right on the beach. We could watch the dolphins swim past. We have a great time and made good use of the fireplace as the night got a little fresh. Will stay again for sure.

An Amazing Beach House
Just a sensational house to holiday in. Nothing but good things to say. Very generously appointed with everything you'll need to get relaxing. It's a funky little retreat that reminds you to slow down. Had one minor issue & Steve was on it in a flash, great stuff. Welcome basket was a bonus! And speaking of bonuses, it's pet friendly, so Penny the dalmatian also had a blast. Highly recommend this property.

Loved this place. The welcome basket was a welcome surprise. Nat was always very helpful and lovely to deal with. The house was really well stocked which is rare these days. Right on the beach. Viewing platform and top floor has a awesome view. Great quiet lane way.

Fantastic family and pet friendly holiday house
Great location and lots of space. Easy walk to the beach, breathtaking views from the upper sun-room and from the top of the backyard (near the crest of the hill). Beds were comfortable and kitchen was well equipped with everything you need for a short of long stay. All bedrooms had ceiling fans to assist with a good night sleep on a hot summer evening. Lots of interesting sites to visit in the local area - or just relax in the lovely backyard well equipped with outdoor umbrellas and relaxing places to sit.

Lovely House Footsteps to the Beach
My partner & I brought our toy poodle to this house and we had a great time here. We love that it’s only footsteps to the beach, with good ocean view at top floor and viewing deck, and the lovely house. The beach is very quiet and almost felt like a private beach. Thanks for hosting us. We have told some neighbours and they are eager to visit too!

Boyd’s Beach House is in a location to die for. We enjoyed a memorable long weekend with friends and our dog - each day started with a stroll with coffee on the beach, which our dog just loved, each day ended with cocktails and whale watching. Natalie was a wonderful host who provided us with all the information we needed in advance of our arrival, and there was a lovely basket of goodies awaiting. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you need to cook up a storm.

Wow what a place! Boyd’s Beach House has it all. Thank you Nat for a fantastic stay. Nat you made my job as the organiser of our weekend away so much easier with your quick replies & great communication. We had everything we needed with a well stocked pantry & kitchen & bathroom supplies. Comfortable beds & high quality linen & towels a big plus. Right on the beach we spent our morning cuppas on the viewing platform watching whales & dolphins swim by. Did not want to leave. Would highly recommend Boyd’s Beach House! LOVELY DOG FRIENDLY PROPERTY STOCKED WITH ALL ESSENTIALS
Easy process of booking, paying, access to property via keypad lock. Hospitable welcome with many items stocked such as hair care, soaps, detergents etc. Provided at property surfboard, boogie boards, guitar, beach chairs, board games, foxtel & Netflix and WII game which kept all amused during rainy days. Such a comfortable and well stocked property, and great separated rooms to keep older teens happy with own space. Great beach viewing areas, outdoor sitting area and outdoor shower with hot & cold water. Thank you so much Natalie and Sacha for the privilege of being able to share your very special property. Overall experience
The property was clean and very well appointed. We would have liked to have had more time there, but unfortunately that wasn't possible. Some severe storms in the region on the Friday afternoon resulted in minor water ingestion from roof leaks and possible hail damage to the clear overhead panels in the house, but that didn't spoil our stay; it merely reduced our beach and outdoor experiences. The check-in experience however marred our stay, with 7 fruitless attempts to log into the Stayz website along with an attempted password reset before finally giving up and phoning the property owner directly. He couldn't have been more helpful, preventing what could have been a family calamity. It's highly unlikely that we'll be using the Stayz website again.

What should have been...
This property was very tired, run down, dirty and unsafe. There were cobwebs everywhere, there was a hole in a balcony floor, the BBQ was uncleaned & the light above BBQ did not work, the main rubbish bin was found down the road, only 2 used toilet rolls were provided, we had a tiny ensuite with very finniky water pressures and more. The photos shown in the web site do not represent the correct state of the house. Needless to say, we won't be going back.

Not so toddler friendly
Firstly, the weather was really terrible and there was no outside shelter. The property was clean however a lot of the surfaces were tacky due to cleaning products, this was particularly so for the stair railings. We did not want for anything the property is very well supplied with everything you could need; only departure from this was the lack of easily accessed FTA television on the upstairs television, Everything else was available but we like to watch the news on ABC and SBS. Another thing missing was any information about the area; also a bird guide would have been good. Thank you for the book about Arthur Boyd and the children's books which were well used. Plenty of games as well. The coffee pod situation was also tricky as your house guide says to use Caffitaly system however this brand does not fit. The Coffee machine will take Vittoria Espressotoria System only. The ensuite shower is extremely difficult to adjust not sure what you can do about that. the top toilet was not flushing as you know but really that was not a problem after we were coached on the alternative flushing method. Also we could have done with the charging cables for the speakers which we enjoyed briefly. Please check the lights in the master bedroom the bedside nearest the stairs has a faulty cord which wobbles on and off and a number of globes need replacement throughout the house. It is a great outdoor property with lots of facilities in the yard for the right weather and for older kids

Culburra - Brief Getaway at Boyd's Beach House
Great location and a well-designed house that has everything you need. Being able to check the beach and surf conditions from the upstairs balcony is a winner!
