"Start to finish a truly wonderful experience for my wife's 70th.birthday, unfortunately the breakfast was a bit of a let down ie. My wife's French toast was cold and my fried egg was frazzled, definitely the worst fried egg in Ireland. The egg makes the fry. Booked a table for 7pm Saturday evening. Arrived at 6.50 and we were told to wait outside in a side room until 7 even though the restaurant was empty at the time. Not even an offer to provide us with a drink while we waited. "Beautiful hotel, we were there for NYE, food was excellent however, the bar was understaffed and there were no chairs for people to sit after dinner, no staff seem to have the common sense to get chairs for people v odd was there was lots of space for them, a v expensive night away to have no seat seems unbelievable really. "The hotel was fine. Staff were not the friendliest but they were polite and professional. There was so much bleach used on the sheets that I could smell bleach all night in bed and woke up with a sore throat. Big parking lot with plenty of free parking which was great - but it would have helped if they had more directional signage in the parking lot pointing to the main entrance. "

"We stayed in an upstairs stable room, the room was lovely, beautifully decorated and the bathroom was fab, shower was very powerful and a nice deep freestanding bath. Only complaint was the unbearable heat of the room. Every radiator was scalding hot and there didnt seem to be any way to turn them down or off. The light switch panels also didnt seem to do much, took a lot of button pressing just to get the lights to turn off. "

The room is large and nice, it's nothing special and starting to show it's age a little, you can tell it's an accountant designed room rather than an aesthetic one, but it's more than fine, no power points by the bed is very bad though. The hotel itself is all perfectly acceptable, clean but some fixtures and fittings showing their age with cracked tiles in the lobby.
