With something for everyone, Villa 9 is perfect for a relaxing coastal retreat or an active family holiday. Set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this Swiss chalet style holiday property, the end one of a row, is located at Cromer Country Club. Guests can enjoy free access to the health and leisure facilities all year round including an on-site gm and hairdressers (booking basis only); there is also a games room and an on-site pub and popular restaurant. The resort is built into the hillside which means that the site is terraced and has steps and slopes throughout, and therefore may not be suitable for the infirm.
To the north, the traditional Victorian resort of Cromer is just 1 mile away and can be reached via an excellent cliff top walk or via the wide sandy beach at low tide, with a choice of steps or sloped paths leading down to the shore. Cromer offers plenty of family fun with its promenade, iconic pier and end of pier shows, numerous cafes and eateries, arcades, a cinema, pubs, take-away restaurants, and a wide range of independent and high street stores. There are also two excellent, family-friendly museums, parks and play areas, including a skate park, an impressive historic church boasting the tallest tower in Norfolk which can be climbed at certain times of the year, a small children’s fairground and Amazona Zoo. Of course there are plenty of benches to stop at and take in the views and enjoy some people watching; along with an ice-cream, fish and chips, or perhaps some famous Cromer crab.
To the south is the smaller town of Overstrand which can be accessed by a beautiful cliff top walk, through Happy Valley and alongside the Cromer Royal Golf Club as part of the Norfolk Coast Path, which runs over 80 miles from Hunstanton to Holme-on-Sea. Bird reserves, seal watching, boat trips, fishing, coastal and riverside walks, and steam railway rides at the picturesque resort of Sheringham are just some of the attractions within a short drive or for the more adventurous, via a range of quiet lanes, footpaths and byways. Felbrigg and Blickling halls (National Trust), the charming market towns of Holt, Aylsham and North Walsham, the Norfolk Broads and the city of Norwich are also easily accessible and under an hour away. Beach less than half a mile. Shop 1 mile, pub and restaurant on-site.
