Welcome to the Historic 1923 Porch House! Take a step back in time while still having modern amenities and and incredible location that is close to everything the town of CB has to offer! Being a historical home in the town of Crested Butte has it's advantages. You get tons of character, an incredible location, and a chance to make memories just like families and friends have done for almost 100 years!
Located just one block off Elk Avenue and less than a block to the original Camp 4 Coffee, you may never want to leave when your vacation is over. Pulling up to the house it becomes evident why it is called The Porch House with the wraparound covered porches where you can sit and enjoy a lazy afternoon in one of the rocking chairs provided. This home also owns the lot next door so in the Summer there is room for a friendly game of family football and in the winter enough snow for epic snowball fights and snowman competitions!
Step inside the home and kick off your shoes to get the vacation started. The living area is spacious and open with plenty of seating and a large TV to watch the big game. There is a wood burning stove in the room which not only gives off great warmth but is a fantastic nod to the history of the home. The dining table seats everyone for those family dinners and the kitchen is well equipped to handle everything from biscuits and gravy to dinners with grilled steaks using the gas grill just outside on the deck.
There are also two bedrooms on the main level and a full bathroom. The back bedroom is the master with vaulted ceilings, a king bed, private deck, and tons of natural light! At the other end of the house there is a queen bedroom with high ceilings and blackout blinds so that you can sleep in. Upstairs you will find two queen bedrooms that share a full bath on the landing. As you walk up the stairs take a peek back in time with framed documents from Crested Butte's history almost 100 years old!
In the Summer, the yard couldn't be better and curling up on the outdoor furniture to read a good book under the trees is a great way to spend a lazy afternoon. Hungry, then a short stroll from the home is the majority of restaurants in town and don't forget to duck into one of our many shops for that special T-shirt or gift. Whatever season, take a step back in time and realize that the past may be where you belong at The Porch House!
