Family Hm-3 Bdrm sleeps 7 w/ jacuzzi tub near redwoods, beach & Elk Vlly Casino

Here is that perfect place for your multi-generational family reunion to reconnect and relax with new Jacuzzi whirlpool tub. This home honors the local tribal culture of Elk Valley where a large herd of Roosevelt elk still roams. The home is near the brand new Elk Valley Casino of the Yurok/ Tolowa people. In the still of the morning you can hear the sounds of the fog horn in the marina and smell the ocean breeze in this quiet rural neighborhood. Our vacation home can accommodate guests of all ages with a variety of beds from crib to full, queen, and King sized. We have 3 TV's,one 52" in living and 2 in bedrooms, plus a library of dvd movies, books, games, and puzzles if you just want to hang out at home for that quality family time. Spectrum internet is connected with Roku and Netflix channels. Our home has been adapted for guests with physical limitations from a wheelchair ramp in the garage to grab bars, and transfer bench for the bathroom There is even a fenced yard. Non-approved pets will result in $250 penalty.
Our home has been renovated with new hickory & bamboo floors, carpets, furnishings, and paint. We have a full kitchen with a dining table which seats 6 and another table which can accommodate 4, if you want to fix a meal. the kitchen is well equipped with every appliance from radiant stove top and oven to full sized refrigerator, dishwasher, and garbage disposal, blender, crock pot, mixer, coffee pot. If not there are many great restaurants from Fisherman's Restaurant for their fresh fish-n-chips to Perlitas Authentic Mexican or Kin Thai on Front Street to all-you can-eat buffets at Elk Valley Casino.
There is plenty of parking with a large double driveway in front of the garage or on the street. The bus stop is just a few feet on Endert where you can catch the local bus and ride anywhere in Del Norte County for $1.00.
A favorite public beach is just across 101 from Humboldt Avenue. Endert's Beach offers picnic tables,bar-b-q grills, restrooms, and even beach wheelchairs. Great place for beach combing , sand castle building, kite flying, or walking the dog
If you want to visit many of our local attractions we have built a resource library of information about places to go and see such as local tribal cultural events to ADA wheelchair accessible attractions such as the Trees of Mystery or Ocean World. Enjoy the year-around End of the Trail Museum at the Trees of Mystery, which is one of the largest private collections of Native American artifacts. Or view wildlife from the herd of 45 Roosevelt elk just around the corner to the return of 60,000 Aleutian geese migration in February - March off Castle Rock or the whales spouting along Pebble Beach Drive in November- December or April-May. And then there are the salmon and steelhead runs in the pristine Klamath and Smith Rivers with numerous fishing guide services ready to help you catch that big one for an unforgettable memory. Take a Klamath River Jet boat tour to behold life in the wild from a colony of seals or flock of pelicans on the beach and then travel upriver to view majestic bald eagles and osprey soaring above then diving down for their meal. Make sure you take the time where you can enjoy the beauty of God's cathedral -the Redwood Giants in old growth forests even from the comfort of your vehicle as you drive Newton B. Drury Parkway just South of the town of Klamath or Howland Hill Drive just down the road to Jedidiah Smith State Park. Along Pebble Beach are numerous spots to park and partake of amazing views of sunrises and sunsets with seals barking and two lighthouses in the distance making for amazing photo opportunities to capture the beauty. Crescent City also has a massive waterfront park, site of an old-fashioned 4th of July Celebration, with a public pier and bike trails plus a marine mammal rescue sanctuary as well as a children's playground and public pool.

Our stay
This home had great accommodations, bed was comfy, kitchen was stocked as well as bathrooms. My suggestion is to update paint, and not so much Native American decor. Pictures of elk, redwoods and ocean would sure make this home more appealing.

For what it is it was perfect for our family . . .
What do I mean by perfect for my family? This is a modest 3 bedroom 2 bathroom home in a neighborhood that through a complex history is designated as part of the Native American Elk Valley Rancheria. Once the kids were in the car we could be driving along the beach by going one direction or entering the Jedediah Smith Redwoods state park by going the other--in literally just 5 or 6 minutes. We needed a clean, safe, secure place to stay in a quiet neighborhood that was close to what we wanted to do (and that had good internet and hot showers). It is not fancy, but well maintained. It has a jetted tub in one of the bathrooms, the beds were reported to be comfortable by all of our children and ourselves, and the price was very reasonable. The host was helpful and responsive. Our service dog was very happy there also. For several times as much money we might have found a property that overlooked the ocean, but we would rather save that money to pay for activities and for souvenirs!

Nice house in town
The property was clean, larger than expected (this would be a great place for a family to stay in), and felt safe. The neighborhood was quiet, it is a short drive to the Casino (lots of elk to watch when we stayed in Sept) and a short drive to the beach. The WiFi worked great, it was nice to have a washer/dryer available, and the beds were comfortable. We spent time up and down the coast, visiting the redwoods, and enjoying the shoreline. We would recommend staying here in Crescent City over Eureka if you like the smaller town atmosphere and a safer feeling environment. The owner, Cheri, was very communicative and even gave us a call to let us know of some of the things to do in the area. Overall we would highly recommend this property and would likely book it again if we visit the area again in the future.

Beautiful area, convenient place to stay
We had a fabulous family vacation. Everything about the house was as expected based on reviews, photos, and descriptions. The backyard was quite overgrown for the dog. The kids loved the toys for some down time.

A simple place to lay our heads after a day of play
The house was easy to find, and had the basic amenities needed. My two complaints consist of cleanliness. The garage, where the laundry is, smells very strongly of cat urine. Not a pleasant place to go. Secondly, there was animal hair everywhere, including in the beds. I realize this home allows pets for an additional cost, but I feel the hair should be maintained if it is cleaned as often as it says it should be.

It was a great location. Beach was close and the elk near by was awesome. The house was cozy and great for our stay.

Great place for a family getaway
The house had interesting decor, kept the kids entertained. The owner made it easy to get in and out and everything was clean and well stocked. We were very happy with our experience. This was a last minute booking and we were lucky the previous renters cancelled their reservation. Crescent city has a ton of things to do and see and finding a house on labor day weekend with almost no notice is difficult. We felt very lucky to have found this rental and we had the best time!

Tribal House in Crescent City
We were not impressed upon arriving at this Tribal House. When we came inside, we noticed that trash had not been taken out, the floors were stained with coffee in the kitchen. We went into the bedrooms and noticed the sheets on the bed were dirty, the pillows were stained with what appeared to be blood and the comforters had a dirty smell. We then went into the bathrooms and found them to be dirty also. When we called the owner, she said it had been cleaned the day before. We assured her it was not and asked her what could be done and her response was that she couldn't send the person back out to clean and we would need to clean ourselves if we wanted it taken care of. Would not recommend this place at all. We spent the night in a hotel.

Nice, basic place to stay for a small group
Nice, basic place to stay for a small group. Cheri was an absolute sweetheart and very helpful. She was prepared and sent files with information regarding local attractions and directions to the home. The home was in a rural area, only a few miles from the beach. This meant that it was quiet and had a neighborly feel. The kitchen and living room was not carpeted, which made it perfect for our dogs.

Spacious, peaceful, welcoming and affordable!
We were only at Cheri's place for one day and night, but thoroughly enjoyed the peaceful, quiet neighborhood. Incredibly affordable for so much room and so many amenities! The house itself is roomy and welcoming, with really interesting local Native American cultural highlights on every wall. The master bed was super comfortable--slept very well! I love that there were musical instruments to play with in addition to the usual collection of fun board games, puzzles, etc. For simple cooking, the fully equipped kitchen was perfect--with a huge table right by a bright front window for lingering over brunch and a book. Fenced yard was perfect for our dog--appreciate the peace of mind. Cheri herself was very easy to communicate with--thanks again for a great stay!

Basic clean and comfy house close to the beach.
The house is a good place to land after a day of surfing or exploring the coast. There are no pots, pans , skillets of any kind in the house so cooking your own meals is impossible. Also needs a coffee maker! We have 2 small kids and would reserve this place again only if we could do our own cooking.
