We enjoyed the peaceful, relaxing, and minimalist vibe. There was something for everybody. We enjoyed how close it was to Ash Cave, the incredible deck on the roof, and the open space inside. Our dog enjoyed t walking the perimeter along the creek. It exceeded our expectations.
The place was ok. There were not enough towels left out in the showers or in the kitchen. The price was over $500 for one night. We could have done better for that much money.
Wanted to do something different for New Year’s Eve and mission accomplished. This was a nice & unique property being a container home. Property wasn’t completely cleaned yet at check-in time but no big deal. Cool, modern interior decor but could not figure out volume on one TV; again not a big deal. It takes awhile for hot water to come but just need to be patient. The multiple heaters/AC units throughout was different; couldn’t find remotes for all them & when sleeping can hear the fans outdoors running. Just minor things; we had a great family-style NYE. Just some fine details could make it even better.
Property was clean, had several sleeping options and was well situated to visit state park attractions. Bonus: allows dogs! Would recommend bringing extra bath and hand towels (not enough provided) and taking very short showers (limited hot water).
Loved the house and location close to Ash cave. Bring firewood and paper plates. They do have wifi to connect to, you will lose all service. Upstairs bathroom had sewage smell and was the only negative.
Our family of six had a great 1-night stay here. It was fun to be able to bring our cavapoo too! The check-in keyless entry was easy (make sure to take a screenshot of the code and start directions before traveling, because when you get to the house you won't have service). Wifi was easy to sign into, home was clean and beds were comfortable. The home is cozy and small while simultaneously feeling spacious for all being together. Exactly what you want! The upstairs living space is great and the large windows make you feel like you are in the trees! The large TVs were nice to have and worked great too!
We loved having a fire in the backyard firepit while still being close to the house to run back and forth for smores supplies, drink refills, etc. Some seating back by the fire pit would make it even better!
A few things worth noting:
- there is not a dishwasher, so if you don't love doing dishes by hand, consider bringing paper plates, etc. Foil/parchment will also help make baking clean-up a breeze
- there are not wine glasses, only tall water and short rocks glasses, so bring your own if that is important to you
- grab firewood on your way into the Hocking Hills area for the firepit
- the water is safe but some may not love the smell/taste; bring your own if desired.
Adding curtains to the upstairs bedrooms would be nice for those adults (and more importantly, children) that don't want to wake up and go to sleep with the sun.
Great cabin that fit our group of 10 very comfortably. The house was very clean and beds were comfortable. I will say we all lost service driving to the cabin so make sure you know where you are going before you leave the highway. Would stay there again.😊
A group of 10 of us came for a relaxing weekend. I loved being able to book this container house as I like different places to stay. The place was very clean, had everything we needed, and very quiet. We enjoyed spending our time on the outdoor patio as you felt you were one with nature. It is close to a few trails, we had a lot of laughs on the bumpy, crazy roads to get to them. We did run into a couple of issues during our stay, but the host resolved them and their communication was great. If you are looking for a quiet retreat this house is for you.
Pictures are accurate. If you want to stay way off the beaten path this is for you. Off one lane road. House is fairly new, but the tankless water heater kept needing to be reset. Host Joshua did answer any emails almost immediately and helped us when a breaker tripped and with the water heater problem by calling within 15 minutes. Also, we never got the door access code but the cleaning woman was still in the house when we arrived and let us in otherwise we were without internet/cell service until we knew the wifi which would have been a major problem for all involved!
