Cozy Cabin in the national forest

We're located 11 miles north of Pagosa Springs along a scenic mountain road that leads to a secluded spot surrounded by the San Juan National Forest. This 1,400 sq ft, two-story cabin offers one private bedroom with an outdoor balcony plus a loft with multiple beds. A fully stocked kitchen, dishwasher, washer and dryer, gas stove & wood-burning stove, and electric heat are available for your convenience. Relax outside on the deck that overlooks a valley with 2 ponds and northern peak views. The cabin sits on 2 wooded acres at 9,000 ft elevation surrounded by aspens, spruce, and fir trees, that's home to mule deer, elk, fox, chipmunks, and an assortment of birds.
This cabin is located in a small settlement named Lost Valley of the San Juans. There are few friendly neighbors, but they are spread out among the valley.
The Weminuche Wilderness and Fourmile trailhead are very close. They offer breathtaking views of waterfalls, creeks, rivers, and high mountain lakes.

We are 30 minutes from Pagosa Springs, 1 hour and 45 minutes from downtown Creede, and 1 hour and 40 minutes from Durango.

Pagosa Springs is surrounded by more than 3 million acres of national forest that offer ample opportunity to keep you entertained. Drive down for dinner, soothe your muscles in the hot springs, float/kayak/hike down the San Juan River, golf, balloon rides, horseback riding, or just take a stroll down the streets to shop.
There are places to rent mountain bikes, fishing supplies, and more outdoor equipment. The San Juan river runs through town and offers world-class trout fishing.
*hunters welcome!*

Long term renters- if you’re interested in renting the cabin during the winter months please message me and we can work this out. 2 week- Month long minimum stay and must have a snowmobile for access.

Peaceful place to stay!
We loved the peace and quiet. We made friends with the squirrel on the backporch. We named him Taz and had him on our lap by the end of our stay, so bring some Cheez-Its.

Fall Foliage
Arrived after dark and the road is winding and very dark, but the directions were great. The valley is beautiful and only a mile from Four Mile trailhead and the trail to the falls. Very friendly people living in the valley.

Lovely cabin deep in the woods.
Was a lovely stay with little issues. The toilet was a little temperamental at times, you have to make sure to pull the handle up for it to refil properly. The only real issue we had was the internet. There was no wifi password and absolutely no cell service. We had to go into town (30-45 minute drive) to call and recieve the password, which I needed for work. That being said, once contacted she sent the password within a few minutes. All and all I would highly recommend this cabin for you or your family! Very beautiful.

Family Unplugged
This little cabin in the woods was exactly what we were looking for in a getaway for our family! Our 3 kids (ages 7-11) chose it because of the loft, which was perfectly comfortable with the 3 beds and plenty of cozy space. Kitchen was fully stocked with all the basics, essential spices and even condiments, which is so rare! The little extra surprises topped it off, like basket of toys, extra fishing poles, dvds and cupboard of games. Although there is Wi-Fi, we were delighted to see our kids remain completely unplugged and enjoy the beautiful surroundings!

Beautiful scenery, mountains and off in the boonies!
Cozy cabin just as it appears, surrounded by woods and scattered cabins down the road. Only a few other vehicles would pass by morning & evening. Our vehicle is not 4WD so we parked near the top of the driveway. We had rain each afternoon of our stay which made going into the cabin a little more of a hassle with having to take off shoes, wiping pet paws and also kept us from being able to enjoy the back deck. There are stepping stumps at bottom portion of driveway to front door and around side of cabin, the first one was slippery heading around side to back. There is a pond we walked to down the main road. We did get to perch our camp chairs in the back past the porch once, after a long hike before the next rains came. Though wet, we walked our dog along the short foot trail directly behind the cabin, heading up the hill and down as far to a group of Aspen trees where it seemed to end. We picked up groceries before the 30 minute drive to get to the cabin. The kitchen served our needs of 4 adults and the bathroom/shower had ample room. There is a TV upstairs for watching VCR movies on hand but there is no standard service/channels for viewing. The steps going upstairs to the bedrooms and TV are quite creaky. Queen bed was comfortable, but the single twin beds felt small for their size according to our adult children. The extra blankets were a bit musty but kept us warm. We had socks with sandals but slippers would have been better. It was chilly at night. Overall it was a good visit in beautiful woods, just a little to wet for us. The rains were much needed though.

Beautiful views, close to hike the Four Mile Falls. Cooking out in serenity! Great getaway to unwind from the Rat Race of every day life! Well stocked kitchen, bring all your food for cooking. FYI...There is not a store close by, but we enjoyed the quietness and were prepared.

Loved the seclusion!
This was "base camp" for us while we explored the area. Didn't spend a lot of time there during the day, but the evenings were awesome. Had a small fire and cocktails on the back deck. So relaxing!

Very nice, quiet area
Very quiet and roomy. Lots of places for everyone to go for walks in the evening. Short distance to Pagosa Springs and outdoor adventures. All bedrooms are upstairs and a secure stair and hand rail to get in the back deck would have been nice. We would return here.

Great Property
This is the perfect getaway! The cabin is a little drive (30min) from Pagosa Springs but the woods surrounding the cabin are stunning. The cabin was very comfortable for our family of four. This is the second time we’ve stayed here because the location is beautiful and the cabin has everything you need. My only complaint was the carpet smelled strongly of urine.

Loved the Cozy Cabin!
We absolutely loved the Cozy Cabin! It was perfect for our little family. The only thing I wasn’t crazy about was the bathroom down stairs; I have to get up during the night and felt like I was waking everyone with the stairs. But definitely doable for a week! Cabin had everything furnished well including movies and games. We loved all the deer, elk and chipmunks we saw on the drive up and down each time. Definitely recommend!!!

Disconnect
Was a great place to stay away from town. We enjoy being away from the crowd and this is definitely it. Be prepared to drive 30min to town, we planned our outings with a bag for all events so that we only had to make the trip once a day if needed. The trails were great. Only disappointment was that the kids did not catch any fish on the property ponds. Otherwise great
