"Really like this place. Visited as a solo business traveler, so want somewhere comfortable and clean where I can eat in. The rooms are very comfortable indeed and I can’t fault the cleanliness. WiFi works well. Staff are really friendly without being intrusive. Evening menu is varied even for a gluten free pain like me, and offer great value for money. There’s a good vibe in the bar as well. Breakfast is included and very good. The location is perfect for me - nice and quiet and having arrived in darkness I was very pleasantly surprised by the views. It’s about 15 minutes away from Consett which is perfect. "

"Second time saying here, and hopefully not the last. Really well located for exploring Cumbria and Hadrians Wall destinations. AD122 bus which takes in those locations stops right outside hotel. Really friendly staff, great breakfast, super clean rooms. Older building so expect some sloping floors and walls off-plumb. Bedrooms are upstairs with no lift, but not a problem for us. Great value, with bar serving goid food and real ale. Can’t ask for much more. "
