Daintree Magic is the closest accommodation to the beach. It is an exclusive, self contained holiday house, secluded deep in the heart of the Daintree Rainforest. There are 2 lounge rooms, one at the front of the house fronting onto the beautiful veranda, with a fire place and TV, and another lounge/ dining room, with an amazing long built in sofa lounge along two of the walls. This room also has a table and bench seats and draws with games, books and a few toys. There is a bathroom off the back veranda and a large corner bath on the front veranda, great for kids to play in or a romantic hot tub. Enjoy the sound of the waves and the ocean views from the hammock and the bath on the front veranda.
There is a family sized Webber BBQ and a pizza stone to go in it, on the back veranda and some cleaning equipment as well.
There is no washing machine due to the solar power, but there is a handwashing sink and drying rack for handwashing. There are also public washing machines at Crocodylus resort just up the road and a full laundromat at Mossman and Port Douglas.
It is a lovely 8-10 min walk down to the beach or a 1 min drive. Cow Bay beach is beautiful and clean, with crystal clear water is good weather. At low tide you can walk to the north and get to the 4th beach, over a little headland or if it is low enough wade around the rocks. There are gorgeous rock pools with seaweeds, crabs and fish along the coastal edge, great for exploring.
If you are into rock hopping you can walk to the south, about 20 mins over the rocks to Calf Bay, a spectacular little cove just south of Cow Bay, with no road access. Well worth the walk.
There are Crocodiles in the rivers and they sometimes move along the coastline, so swimming in the ocean is NOT recommended.
There are a few great fresh water swimming holes, behind Mason's store and below the Heritage Lodge, (if you have lunch there, they let you use the swimming hole.) This one is known as the "Blue Hole" and crystal clear and blue to swim in. Also Emmagen Creek, north of Cape Tribulation.
Take a drive up to Cape Tribulation, enjoy some of the boardwalks along the way and check out the beaches, they are amazing.
This whole area is so spectacular, with ample tours to take or lots to explore yourself.
