The Park Room that we stayed in was full of antiques, with stunning decor and four shuttered windows that overlooked the the estate, pond and horses, donkeys and cow. "Such an atmospheric property, filled with echoes of its colourful past. This is not a hotel-like palace but rather a grande-dame of a chateau with all the attendant wrinkles and wear that actually feels like it's been lived in by real families for centuries. "Fantastic stay; our two families had a wonderful time with lots of space, peace and quiet in the middle nowhere. It was lovely to be welcomed with local honey and bone grown produce. Our disappointment was the lack of comfortable seating especially outdoors, particularly by the pool. We should note is was in excess of 30 degrees and some fans would have been welcome in the house, but appreciate these temperatures were excessive. All sad to leave especially the teens."
