We expected from the two star rating that it would be basic but all the fixtures and fittings were of a good quality and generally it was a pleasure to stay here. "This is a perfect location - right on the Diamond. Parking is available nearby (metered spaces you can pay for 9 hours at a time). The pool and gym are a huge plus. The dinner and breakfast we had there were very good. There may be wheelchair accessible rooms but the one we had was not (we didn't request one, just an FYI for guests) - although there was a lift there were also stairs between the lift and our room. "

"First time in the Gateway, reception was very friendly, check in was easy. room was a good size, chairs and table meant you didn't have to lie on the bed to relax. Bathroom was well equipped. Room was hot even with radiators off. The Gateway was very handy for town centre, 4-5 min walk. The Bistro is excellent, very friendly and helpful staff and nothing was too muvh trouble. Were going to book again for our next break but fully booked at the time we would like. Definitely recommend a stay here. Well done to all the staff. "
