MERMAID HIDEAWAY Canal Front-Personal Dock-Daily Horse Visits-Pet Friendly

Accessible by Four Wheel Drive only, you will drive down the beach about 7-10 miles, this is why you will need a four wheel drive. MERMAID HIDEAWAY is what you find in this charming home. Enjoy sound sunsets with views over the nature preserve where the wild horses roam. This is a great spot for a treasured family vacation. The whole family can enjoy the bottom deck with its picturesque sitting area & the sandy yard, after a day at the beach, clean off the sand in the outside shower & enjoy a drink on the deck or a little relaxation in the hot tub or pool. We have corn hole boards (renters bring your own bags) 2-kayaks (1-person & 2-person kayaks) & other amenities to enjoy. The horses stop by everyday, for a visit, your own personal tour right in your yard.

We supply 2-Beach parking passes. Please leave for the next renter. There is a charge for lost beach parking passes.

No dogs in the pool or hot tub. There will be a cleaning fee added.

Pet friendly family vacation
This has got to be the best place to stay. Watching the deer, horses and various birds while sitting in the pool or hot tub. The house has everything you need and has the feeling of home. Trent is the best to work with and is always there to help if anything is needed. I highly recommend staying here.

Annual OBX Trip
Had the best time!! The owner was amazing, communication was top notch, everything was as advertised and better than we expected! We usually stay Ocean side but so glad we found this property on the Canal! We had so much fun Kayaking and crabbing and the beach was just a super quick hop down the road. Absolutely will recommend this property to our friends and family!!

Perfect getaway
This house is great, clean, awesome layout. Location is very private and the canal is great for fishing, crabbing, canoeing, kayaking. The deck uber the house is great for eating, hanging out, sitting in the hot tub. The pool is nice and private. The horses are sweet to see walking around. The owner is great to work with, this is the perfect place to get away from it all.

Wonderful pet friendly vacation spot
We had an amazing week at Mermaid Hideaway! The house was comfortable with everything we needed, even toilet paper and paper towels. We watched horses from the front yard daily. Water next to the house was clean for fishing, kayaking, and even a little swimming. The owner was easy to contact, answered all questions, and even picked us up some fishing bait. We have been to many vacation homes and this was the best!

The week was perfect. The only way it would have been better would be if we could have stayed forever. We love the house, its secluded location, the amenities provided and our host Trent is truly an angel. We recommend this listing. Perfect vacation! We already want to plan a return trip. The wild horses are all around the property & beach area. No problems driving on the beach. The house has absolutely everything you need & more. Wonderful owners to talk to. Loved it!!!!

Epic Family Adventure!!!
House was more than we expected! Pictures just can not do it justice. Wild horses every morning and unbelievable views of the sunrise and sunset! Not one moment of our trip was wasted as there is so much to do at the house when we finished at the beach each day. We plan to return for sure!! Really enjoyed our stay at Mermaid Getaway! Was perfect house for our family.
The house was well suited for our family and very clean. This is the perfect house to see all types of wildlife. The wild horses were in the yard everyday and crossed the canal several times. The bird watching was amazing. We really enjoyed the outdoor area. The built in sound system was a nice surprise - especially when swimming in the pool. The beach was spectacular! Trent was great to work with. Would highly recommend this property! Thanks for sharing your home with us!!

Family vacation
The house was amazing. Our family loved everything about it. We seen different varieties of wildlife each day. Trent is an awesome guy to rent from and goes above and beyond to make sure your trip feels like you are at your home away from home. With all the vacations we've been on in the past, Trent was definitely the best person I've ever dealt with. He cares more about you and your family having a great stay than any other landowner we've stayed at. I will definitely recommend any place he has to everyone. If you haven't had the pleasure of staying at his rental then you are truely missing out!! Do yourself a favor and book it because you won't regret it!!! The pool and hot tub are great for all ages!! Again, I can't speak highly enough on the how great this house and everything it offers was!!! Lastly, I completely recommend this place and any others that Trent has available. He truely cares about your stay and it shows!!!

Wonderful stay!!
Beautiful house fully stocked with everything we needed. The property manager communicated everything we needed to know and let us know that he was available if we needed anything. The ride down the beach to the house was so much fun - just make sure you have 4wd and lower your tire pressure. There's nothing else like it! We love to live on the island, but will have to settle for vacations there, for now. :) .

Trent was an awesome host. Absolutely loved this house and its location. Saw horses daily. Ocean was flagged most of the week but there was so much to do from the house it made up for it. Definitely going there next year.

Summer fun
This house was perfect for our family. We were able to dock our boat easily and the property was also easily accessed by land. We were visited daily by the local horses which was a thrill to us all. It was a vacation we all loved and look forward to our next time in Corova.

Heaven's hideaway :)
Our family's stay was perfection. The location was incredible, and we saw horses daily. The pool and hot tub were awesome ways to unwind after a day at the beach. Our hosts were available for anything we needed, which really wasn't much because they had everything setup for us to enjoy before we even arrived. I hope to stay here again, and recommend anyone takes the opportunity to stay here in the future 🎉

Great place to stay and vacation
It was our first trip to Carova and everyone really liked the location as it was different from anywhere we had ever vacationed before. The trip up the 4x4 beach was an adventure from the normal commutes to other vacations. The beach was beautiful and although could get a little crowed more towards the weekends, but it always felt like you were away from it all. We liked being able to drive from the house to the beach as it was very convenient and eliminated a lot of work hauling things that were always right there next to us in the truck at the beach. It was especially helpful when we took our 5 month old granddaughter to the beach. If anyone needed to go back to the house, it was just a quick drive (<5 minutes) back to the house. The home was well located and equipped for our vacation needs. The pool was a great addition when you needed a quick cool off. Trent was very helpful and accommodating. Thank you for a great stay.

Gray private getaway

First time ever staying at a location on the beach
This was definitely an experience with having time restrictions when you can leave and have to be back due to high tide, when we figured out our way around it was great. All the puddles we had to go through was a little nerve racking but with the truck we made it. Had a little trouble finding the house with being our first time but I contacted Trent and he came to rescue us, once we got there we did nothing but relax and anything we needed Trent was on top of it and constantly checked in on us! Couldn’t of asked for a better host!

Perfect week
Thanks for giving us a private/peaceful week. It was a perfect getaway. The pool is awesome. Loved relaxing in the hot tub in the evenings. Great communication with Trent. Listen to his advice on tire pressure and you will have an easy time getting to house. Wildlife and nature was amazing. Saw our first otter that was not in a zoo! Highly recommend!

Being on the canal was great with seeing the deer and cranes. My nephew caught his first fish! We loved seeing the horses everyday. We had access to the sound to ride our jet ski. The pool was great! The house could use a power washing and a little better lighting at night.

This place is amazing .... between the horses and turtles and other nature around you cannot go wrong and there is plenty to do .... fishing, kayaking, walking , swimming in the pool hot tub , corn hole and anything you can think of . Perfect for families with little kids and big kids. If you don't mind driving on the beach and have a vehicle that can make it , I highly recommend renting this house 👌 👍 😀
