What a view!!
Friendly and professional service from LJ Hooker. The property was clean, welcoming and catered to all our needs. Idyllic location right on the bay. Daily dolphin sightings at no extra cost. Spectacular views and central location. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking to holiday in Port Stephens.

Great location but cleanliness was a big issue.
Location is great but there were cobwebs in all corners inside the house. Plate drawer had coco pops spilled everywhere, dishwasher was black from the inside and had mold where you put the dishwasher tablet. The bottom floor outdoor patio was not cleaned and had to call the host to send someone to clean it the next day.

Great location and view
The property is in a beautiful location but lacks some fundamentals to match its beautiful view. Poor mobile connection and no wifi, free to air tv only via an old school digital tv external box with very iffy coverage. The toilet in the ensuite was unusable during our entire 5 night stay which was hugely inconvenient. The ground floor bedroom four had a rotten milk smell which turned out to be a rotting McDonald’s milkshake container not cleaned away. However in saying all of this, the location is fantastic. The house is a great size, the beds are comfortable it is well worth a stay.

Comes close but needs a little love
We booked this place at the last minute and mostly based upon it's location and views. So to start out on a positive note in that regard we were not disappointed. the house is absolute waterfront with fabulous views and a swim in the sparkling waters is only meters from the door. The view from the upstairs balcony is every bit as good as the picture shows and to sit there and watch the sunset with a glass of bubbles in hand and the odd dolphin passing by is what it's all about. Nelson Bay is only minutes away by car and it's also a very easy and delightful walk of only 45 mins. The house is bright and spacious and has just about all you need for a comfortable stay. You need to bring your own linen and towels but we had no issue with that and we were provided with a care pack on arrival which include detergents, toilet paper and some coffee and sugar satchels etc. There is no wifi which is a rarity these days but that'snot a deal breaker though it could be for some. What this property really needs however is a little love as there are a few issues which need to be addressed by the owners. The leather lounge really does need a proper clean as it's light coloured and had ingrained dirt allover it which a simple wipe does not fix. One of the six dining chairs was broken, as previously mentioned in reviews and is unsafe to sit on. I actually took it downstairs and left a note on it as well as informing the agent so if it reappears upstairs I suggest breaking it up and putting it in the bin as it can not br repaired. If you are staying there during the month of April 2020 you will also have the privilege of celebrating the first anniversary of the range hood being broken. Is this really acceptable in a property in this price range? The blinds were broken and dusty in the main bedroom and the carpet had multiple stains. The property is also advertised as having an outdoor spa which is not really correct. Yes it does have a proper spa but as it's located underneath the building and boxed in with a wall on three sides and the neighbouring building on the fourth we found it much to unappealing to use. As I've said this property has much to recommend it and we did enjoy our stay. In fact we considered lengthening our stay by another two nights but as the perfect weather that we had was deteriorating we opted not too. So would we go back? Yes, on the caveat that a little love could make this property as breathtaking on the inside as it is on the outside.

Girls weekend away
This property was in a great location. It was clean on the inside however the balconies and other outside areas were very grubby, like they hadn’t been cleaned in 6 months. The crisper drawers in the fridge could also do with a clean. Be sure to bring your pantry and cleaning supplies too. And we hired the linen which worked out well. Overall it was a great place to catch up with some girlfriends.

Beautiful Water Front
Just a step from the back door and you are in the water. Little sandy beach for young children at low tide. With a large spa to relax in the evening. Would love to return soon.

Worst experince ever
The first time booking with airbnb and I am very disapointed. Upon arrival to the property as I opened the door and got in I found two cockroaches dead on the ground, one in the garage, one in the main bedroom underneath the lounge and one in the main lounge room. The garage lights were out not working and that made things very hard for us at night time. The rooms bed were smelly and not comfortable at all. The rug and lounge couch in the main lounge room were so old and dirty. the courtains in the rooms were all broken so we couldnt sleep after 8am everyday that was just terrible. The jacuzzi wasnt working properly at all and we couldnt use it as we wished to. The microwave in the kitchen wasnt working either. Two lights in the main lounge room were also out. The house was trashed and given to us very dirty. I am very disapointed with this booking and will never book this place again. The amount of money I paid for this property was not worth it at all. I have taken photos for the faults as well.

Awesome location
Stayed here for a week on our honeymoon. Beautiful spot close to everything, with bonus dolphins swimming right out the front. Nice size spa.

Top spot
Great house. Nice location. You can swim right out front of property. Stayed 5 nights and saw dolphins daily. Only cons; >Could have used an iron as we stayed for a wedding... >Gas bottle for house ran out (we cooked breaky twice on internal stove)

Stunning Sunsets on the Water
3 1/2 stars - Great location with absolute water frontage. Perfect view of the sunsets, truly comfy beds and whisper quiet area. Easy bike ride to town centre etc. Great reverse cycle aircon. Furniture is spartan but comfortable in living room (sits 4 comfortably) There were 6 of us so someone had to sit on ground (or grab an uncomfortable dining chair). Lack of insulation between floors and between bedrooms 2 & 3 downstairs meant everyone had to be considerate noisewise. Master bedroom is on same level as Kitchen/dining which was fine, but the ensuite had to be shared with the other 2 couples, as no one wanted to walk downstairs to other one during the day. Hot tub was fantastic, just a weird location as doesn't take advantage of the view. It IS a lovely property and would stay again.

in a shocking state
Utterly aggravating to arrive at your rental property to find it in a disgusting state and then have to do battle with the manager of L J Hooker in Nelson Bay to get someone out to clean it. We could smell the BBQ which was so dirty when the cleaners did arrive it took an hour for them to clean the BBQ and oven. We cleaned the bathroom and picked up the dead cockroaches ourselves!! While the property had a beautiful waterfront view almost all of the furniture was uncomfortable So it wasn't the relaxing holiday we'd hoped for. Also the kitchen was incredibly poorly equipped with dirty pots and pans clearly a left over from the war, First World War I suspect. Very disappointed.
