Never again
They don't even try. The bed was lumpy, the pillow from the 60's I think. The temp went down to +7C in September and I was told the heat "was not available yet" The breakfast buffet was a joke...and the worst part was no regulator in the shower...which is ok if you like showering in freezing cold water. Never again if the room was free.

Nice hotel in a convenient location
We had a lovely stay at Hotel Du Nord. Being situated so near to the station made it a very quick journey from the airport with very little walking. Check in was quick and very easy and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was a good size comfortable, clean and well heated. Enjoyed the breakfasts though the room is a little small and during a busier time I think we would have struggled for a table.

Location
Great location, 1 block from train & bus station. Noise from street can be loud, bring ear plugs if room is on street side. Great breakfast, personal very helpful and nice. Asked for a fan and they gave me one, right away.Coppenhagan, is a wonderful city, need four days to see it good!

Close to station and attractions
This is a very convenient hotel for the main train station and Tivoli gardens. It is no more than 200m away from the station. The room I had (a single) was quite large and could have accommodated a double bed. The bed itself felt like it had seen better days and there was only one well used pillow in the room. The welcome at the hotel was friendlier than most similar hotels I have stayed in. Finally, while the area around the hotel is safe, it is worth noting that walking down one of the streets next to the hotel will lead you to Copenhagen's main red light district - not a surprise given how close the train station is. The other street, though, leads you straight to Tivoli and the main shopping areas.

One night in Copenhagen
We stayed here because we were going to a party south of Copenhagen by train and then had an early flight out next morning. The location near the train station was good in this respect, but it isn't in the nicest part of town. There were a group of "working girls" outside our window when we left at 6.00 am the next morning. The street is quite busy, which means it is too noisy to leave the windows open - probably fine most of the year, but note there is no air conditioning. Staff were very helpful though and the room was fine. Left too early to experience the breakfast.

Very pleased overall
We decided to do a 3-day stopover after a 12-day cruise through Russia. Our expectations were not that high because most hotels in Europe have very small rooms and we already had spent nearly 2 weeks in very close quarters. The front desk staff were very friendly and very knowledgeable and helped us with best bets of where to go. Yes, it was a little close to the "Red Light District" and the street noise was quite loud at night, but the neighborhood was very safe, and very close to the train station, Tivoli Gardens, the Stroget shopping district, and the Hop-on-Hop-off bus stop. Breakfast was included and more than sufficient. Wired internet in your room and wireless in the lobby made access easy as well. We would definitely return.

Just OK
Hotel was just OK, was not in a very safe part of town but conveniently located close to downtown and next to the train station. Quite a bit of very questionable activity going on outside the hotel at night. I wouldnt stay there with kids. Copenhagen is a real neat city however, lots of fun.

We stayed in room 312, unfortunately the mattress was very worn, you could feel the springs and I suffered from bed bug attack with rash to my upper legs as a result of an overnight stay. Otherwise staff friendly and helpful in every respect.

Copenhagen Hotel Du Nord
There are several hotels in the neighbourhood dof Tivoli. These are all "Budget Hotels". Aside from Du Nord, Copenhagen Star Hotel is also here and is accross the road from Du Nord. Nebo Hotel is also down the road but doesnt seem to be as famous! The hotels are basic, clean and decent. Its convenient as the central train station is just 100 metres away. A 7-eleven is around the corner and you even have a cafe, a bakery, a chinese restaurant and a thai restaurant in the same road. Du Nord provides coffee making facilities in the room but no iron/board. You probably need dto go to a shared room for that. I never bothered to find out. The breakfast buffet is inclusive and its a real bargain. A cup of coffee and a danish pastry will set you back about 30 kroner (about USD$5) at the nearby bakery. The buffet comes with various pastries, bread, cheese, ham (pork & beef) and fried bacon strips are aplenty. This probably sets Du Nord apart from Copenhagen Star Hotel. The room was standard and decent but the pillows were super small! I didnt experience the same pillow sizes at the Bella Sky Comwell Hotel but Copenhagen Star had similar pillows (Ask for extra pillows!). Service isnt particularly the selling point of Copenhagen. At Du Nord, a friend who travelled last year had meserable service from the reception. However, I had ok service although it bordered on poor. My checkin with a man at the reception was very good and surprised me. The location is walking distant to a 24hr pharmacy (Steno Apotecary) and tourist info centre. Lots of eateries in tivoli including Copenhagen Hard Rock cafe. The Paul Restaurant had closed down but Herman Restaurant is still around (these are Michelin start restaurants). The Stroeget shopping street is also nearby and walking distance. All said and done, i would probably get a hotel or a hostel/dorm in city centre in my next trip. Its more convenient and more things to explore. However, if you want the security of a hotel (esp if you have a family/little ones), Du nord is a good choice.

Hotel du Nord, Copenhagen, Denmark
The Hotel du Nord is situated on a quiet street less than 10 minutes walk from Copenhagen's main railway station, close to the Tivoli gardens and other sights. We stayed there for one night on September 11th 2011. The hotel is well-maintained and the staff are helpful and friendly. Our twin room with en-suite bath and shower was of a good size and clean. My only criticism of the room is that the over bath shower head was a bit wonky and leaked, and one of the bedside lights wasn't working.. There was some traffic noise up to about 11pm and from 7am, but this is to be expected in a large city. The restaurant was light and airy and the breakfast of good quality with cereals and the usual continental selection of cooked meats, cheese, eggs, preserves, tea, coffee, juice etc. The restaurant is quite small and we were advised to breakfast early to avoid the crowds, but at 8am it was only about a quarter full. The cost of the room and breakfast was reasonable by Danish standards, and you would probably pay the same or more in London. We would definitely stay there again.

Walk to train station
Location is the best reason for staying at the du Nord. Rooms are large and recently refurbished. The staff is pleasant. Breakfast is minimal. The hotel borders the red light district. However you can quickly and easily get to the train station.

A cozy safe atmosphere with clean rooms. Was pleased to have the add on's such as kettle and tea/coffee, iron, blow dryer. Courteous helpful staff. Nice breakfast in a nice setting. I had a room facing the back, so it was not noisy at all. I would have liked a snack machine, which I did not see anywhere.

Hotel Du Nord
I liked this hotel for its convenience to the train station, and its comfortable and spacious room. It had a lift, private bath, breakfast, and helpful staff. I did not like the neighborhood it was in. From 2-4am there were groups of drunks/druggies in the streets hollering and fighting. I don't know if this is a regular occurence, but it was a bit loud. There's a few bars and strip clubs surrounding the place that must have closed at that time. We stepped over syringes in the street the next day. Hotel was good, neighborhood was sketchy at night.

Hotel Du Nord, Copenhagen
Stayed two nights in August 2010. Location convenient to main station (and thus airport). Room was fairly basic - but usefully contained a bath-tub and overhead shower, plus an in-room safe (easily programmed with your own numeric code). The room as not air conditioned but a fan was easily obtained from the reception. The room we had was on the ground floor so the lower part of the windows were screwed shut (for secuity reasons) but the top parts could be opened - this was necessary at night as when we stayed the weather was hot. Opening the window meant that you could hear the traffic outside but this was not too loud/heavy, and it was better to be cool ! Breakfast was a self-service buffet - we found that many peple arrived just before the breakfast officially shut which led to a shortage of tables - but if you arrive earlier there will be no problem. The free internet access in the lobby was a big plus - though did not have a printer attached, and appeared not to have an up-to-date anti- virus software installed, so use it carefully. The biggest (and onlly) major negative about this hotel was the standard of cleaning in the room - whilst it was tidy, it was not clean and would have benefitted from a deep clean eg to remove spider's webs, and to shampoo the carpet. => conclusion : you get what you pay for (this was, by Copenhagen standards, relatively cheap)
