About this property

Entire place

You'll have the entire home to yourself and will only share it with other guests in your party.

Minimbah - quiet, family friendly lakehouse

Minimbah - an eco-retreat, tranquility just a few minutes walk from the beautiful Wallis Lake. Relax and unwind in this peaceful haven that comfortably sleeps 8-10 at an affordable rate.

Due to Covid19 you may be required to provide either a recent negative test result or a complete vaccination certificate.

The Google map shown on this site says our house is 7.4km to Forster centre. This is incorrect! Maybe by the way the crow flies. For the rest of us, our house is situated around Wallis Lake about 40 minutes drive from Forster in Coomba Park.

With 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms ( 1 ensuite), it's the perfect getaway for one or two families in an eco-friendly atmosphere. Enjoy the rural harmony of the birds singing, the active kangaroo life and the magnificent sunsets over the lake from the fabulous wrap around entertaining deck, stay cool in summer on the shaded downstairs paved area or nestle by the wood fire stove with a spine-chilling best seller in the cooler seasons. Minimbah has all the key ingredients for a relaxing holiday.

Coomba Park is only on tank water so if you object to drinking rainwater you will need to bring your own bottled water. (The tank water tastes much better!)

The versatile sleeping arrangements include: upstairs 1 queen sized bed, 1 double bed and one set of single bunks, downstairs (external access) has 1 queen sized bed and one set of single bunks.

Features:
* Slow combustion wood burning stove in living area
* BBQ
* Doonas, pillows and blankets provided (bring your own linen and towels)
* Dishwasher
* Microwave
* 2 TVs
* 2 DVDs
* Ceiling fans in every room
* Washing machine
* Pets allowed
* Crockery, cutlery, glass
for 10
* Good reading selection
* Electric oven
*Selection of DVDs and games
* Solar hot water
* Water treated on-site - tank water only - some people prefer to bring their own drinking water
* Use of 1 small kayak and 1 double kayaks
*Scooter and skateboard

Note: Minimbah is a non-smoking environment.

Versatility and variety

Only 250m approx from Wallis Lake's public boat ramp and the safe enclosed beach and swimming area. Take the children down to the play area, walk along the foreshore enjoying the birdlife. Have a bar-b-que or fish from the jetty. It's all yours to enjoy.

25mins drive to Boomerang Beach, voted the 2nd best beach in Australia! Take a drive and see if you agree...

During the summer holidays there are free learn to sail classes at the Aquatic Centre which is also open at the weekends for lunch and dinner. (Please check updated times)

The closest supermarkets are in Pacific Palms or in Smiths Lake with larger ones in Forster.

Minimbah has plenty of room to play with a large shaded paved area under the house, an empty grassed block behind and open views to the hills in front.

Minimbah, everything you could want in an affordable restful family holiday.

Minimbah - 'home of the teacher'

Minimbah, an old Aboriginal name for Forster was chosen by the owners when they found out it meant 'home of the teacher'. Approval to use the name was sought from the local land council and Minimbah it is!

Minimbah is the ultimate in recycling! A house which began its life in Hawks Nest travelled to a house supermarket in Cooranbong before being purchased by the owners, who then transported it to its new home, built underneath and extended around with a large 3 metre deck. The majority of timber used in its construction is also recycled, water is solar heated and water treatment is onsite as we try to keep its footprint to a minimum. Cooling ceiling fans are installed in every room and there is excellent cross ventilation through the open plan living, kitchen and dining areas.

Location was fantastic
Our location was fantastic, but unfortunately the house was very old and rundown, the house was unclean with cockroaches and cockroaches poo everywhere, we had to wash all plates cups and cooking utensils before use, we also couldn’t sleep with windows open as fly screens had rips or holes creating the mosquitoes coming in.

Peaceful and tranquil away from the rat race.
Had a lovely stay at This house, its a bit older but very comfy, beds were nice and breeze is lovely. So quiet. Far from town but lovely park and water boat ramp at the end of the street. Dont forget your insect repellent. Mozzies not too bad. There was the odd lorry on the balcony and big roos about in the morning. Everyone enjoyed the stay. We had 7 adults. 2 dogs. Few minor things need updating.

Coomba Park Sailing Weekend
The property was perfect for our purposes. 8 keen sailors ahred the house. The disabled gentleman stayed downstairs and managed the stairs with help for meals. The property was clean, with several options for sleeping in various rooms. The bathrooms were adequate for our purposes. Eli

A family friendly, spacious lovely place.
The house is situated in a quite neighbourhood, 250 metres away from the lake with nice picnic area. A value for the money. I would highly recommended for larger families. Would definitely consider to book again in the future.

Bang for buck
Spent 3 nights here with 2 families- 4 adults and 6 kids. Was comfortable and homely. Unfortunately the weather meant we were unable to utilise the beautiful lake but day trips into boomerang, blueys beach and Forster filled the void well. It’s about half an hour into town but this can be quite adventitious dependent upon what your needs are. A drink, cards and board games by the wood heater were enjoyed by all! We’d definitely stay again! Thank you
