Hotel de Mellet. 18th century mansion. An architectural gem of 600m2 in a cobbled street just a stone's throw from the historic centre of Condom. 6 spacious bedrooms and 5 private bathrooms with wc for 12 to 15 people. A park of 700m2 protected from view and looking like an Italian garden with a private swimming pool, terraces, a summer dining room in the orangery and a view over the lower town. A stay where charm and refinement are combined in a region where the art of living is a religion.

THE ACCOMMODATION
A huge spectacular staircase opening on the street side onto the adjoining parade rooms welcomes visitors. On the garden side, the living room, dining room and library, all with their period fireplaces, decorated with period furniture and the owner's paintings and sculptures, invite you to rest and contemplate.

A double bedroom on the ground floor, accessible from the living room, with private bathroom and toilet, has its own entrance to the meticulously tended garden decorated with stone sculptures. The rest of the 5 bedrooms can be discovered through the vast floor of this 600m2 building. The spaces are both spacious and minimalist, leaving plenty of room for the expression of the Murano glass lights that adorn some of them, a passion of the owners. Three bedrooms, including a 5-person duplex suite with mezzanine, also have their own bathrooms with toilets, while two other double bedrooms on the street and garden sides share the last bathroom with Italian shower.

-A double room (2 pers) with private bathroom and toilet (shower, bath, toilet). 1 sofa bed with REAL mattress (140 cm). Direct access to the garden.

FLOOR
- Double room Musée de l'Armagnac (2 pers) with anteroom. (double bed 140). Private bathroom (shower + wc).
- Duplex Suite (5 pers) with mezzanine (1 double bed 140 + 3 single beds). Private bathroom (bath + wc).
-Master Suite (2 pers) with living room, bedroom with double bed 160. Private bathroom (shower + wc).
-Double room (2 pers) on the street side (double bed 140). Separate bathroom shared with the room on the garden side (shower and wc).
-Double room (2 pers) on the garden side (double bed 160).

Outside, a 700m2 rear park, protected from the vis à vis and overlooking the whole of the lower town, has been designed as an ancient garden with sculptures, a gravelled walkway, a terrace with garden furniture, a fountain in the outside patio and a glass orangery, serving as a summer dining room by candlelight. The 4m x 9m flat-bottomed swimming pool (1.50m deep), protected by an alarm, is at the centre of the garden.

The most sporty of our travellers will appreciate the PRIVATE ACCESS to the CONDOM TENNIS CLUB all year round (4 minutes away), reserved in the name of the hotel. 8 traditional or soft clay tennis courts, 4 of which are covered, and brand new padel courts with privileged access are available (information on request).

A second garden at the bottom of the ramparts was recently created and designed as a haven of rest in the making, with the appearance of a monastery garden.

A closed garage, on the street side, on the ground floor of the house, can be used to store a classic car and a private outdoor parking space is available for 5/6 cars near the orchard. This is a much appreciated privilege in the heart of the historic centre, as you never have to look for a parking space during your stay.

In the basement, more than 200m² of vaulted stone cellar, not renovated. A unique place of its kind!

The heart of the mansion is the kitchen. A spacious, cool and friendly room, directly open to the patio, equipped with a steam oven, a traditional cooking piano with double ovens, two separate sinks for greater comfort in preparation... A refuge where wine lovers will be able to taste the selection of wines specially designed and assembled by the owners for the hotel (for sale on site, prices displayed). And a paradise for gourmets who will experience the excellence of a stay in Gascony, between gastronomy, refinement, calm and pleasure

ACCESS FOR TRAVELLERS
A car is clearly recommended for getting around and visiting the Gers.
If you arrive by car, you can easily park in one of the local streets, or in the garden car park at the bottom of the ramparts (access to the house by a stone staircase through the ramparts).

We also have a garage for one car with direct access to the house, allowing you to store a classic car and to charge an electric vehicle.

PARKING DURING THE STAY: In addition to this garage, a private parking for 5/6 cars is entirely reserved for you at the bottom of the ramparts with a private entrance through the orchard. You can thus access the garden directly via the stone steps. This is a much appreciated privilege in the heart of the historic centre, as you never have to look for a parking space during your stay.

All essential and non-essential shops are then accessible on foot or by bike!

Hotel particulier de 1764 magnifique mais un lit à remplacer d'urgence !
Une critique de taille : le lit (canapé lit) équipant la chambre du rez de chaussée est complètement délabré : matelas affaissé, lattes du sommer sans aucune souplesse… On sent les lattes au travers du matelas ce qui est très inconfortable. Il est indispensable de changer ce canapé lit pour un vrai lit. Il est dommage que ce couchage désastreux vienne entacher ce logement par ailleurs remarquable…
