Nature's Den Blue Ridge luxury destination, Saluda, Asheville & Tryon area with pets welcome

Are you seeking a memorable vacation experience? Look no further than Nature's Den - a beautifully renovated mountain cabin in Columbus, North Carolina. With easy access to trails, waterfalls, and more, this two-bedroom retreat is the perfect home base for your next North Carolina mountain getaway.

Nature's Den is situated at the top of an exclusive, private mountain community and is a guest favorite. The owners have outfitted and equipped this cabin with your needs in mind, creating the ultimate vacation experience.

Inside the cabin, you will find a contemporary mountain-style haven with high ceilings, vaulted spaces, wood and tile floors, and breathtaking forest views. The great room, complete with a stone fireplace and fully equipped kitchen, is the perfect gathering spot for friends and family. However, if you need some alone time, there is plenty of space inside and out to find your serenity.
Outside, there are three decks with unlimited mountain views, as well as an expansive full-length front porch just off the kitchen and great room. The White Oak community is perfect for exploring, with safe places for kids to play and adults to hike and ride bikes. When the day is done, you can relax and unwind as you take in the star-filled nights and the fireflies that come out to play in your backyard.

If you're a horse enthusiast, you'll be happy to know that you're in horse country and close to the Tryon International Equestrian Center (TIEC), a year-round venue uncovered in Mill Spring, NC — about 25-40 minutes away from the cabin depending on traffic conditions. It's the world's premier Equestrian Lifestyle Destination, showcasing some of the top riders in the Hunter/Jumper, Dressage, and Eventing disciplines.

For outdoor enthusiasts, you're only minutes away from America's favorite scenic byway, The Blue Ridge Parkway, as well as opportunities for motorcycle touring, biking, hiking, white water rafting, rock climbing, kayaking, canoeing, zip lining, Segway tours, and more.

Our cabin is conveniently located in Columbus, NC, near the charming villages of Saluda and Tryon. You can experience a small-town American vibe, festivals, and activities year-round. You can head to downtown Hendersonville or Asheville for first-rate restaurants, shopping, galleries, spas, and entertainment. The Asheville Regional Airport is just 25 minutes away, and the Biltmore Estate is a 45-minute drive from our cabin.

Most importantly the drive to the house is fully paved to the door with ample parking. Be aware that the ascent involves navigating a one-lane road with sharp turns and a notably steep incline. There are no guard rails, which might be disconcerting for those unaccustomed to mountainous terrain. While some guests find the drive exhilarating, we understand that others may prefer a more straightforward approach. Please consider this aspect when planning your visit to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable stay at Nature's Den. We prioritize transparency to ensure our guests have all the information they need for a memorable experience.

Escape to the top of White Oak Mountain and discover the best of North Carolina. Plan your stay at Nature's Den today and immerse yourself in the natural beauty of this serene paradise.

Exclusive Yonder Special: When you book Nature's Den you will receive a special code for discounted tickets to the Biltmore Estate!

Perfect spot to recharge!
My husband and I and two boys, age 4 and 2, stayed for four nights and we were all sad to leave! The cabin is exactly as shown in the photos. It was spotless and smelled like new when we arrived. It was well equipped with all the things we needed to settle in comfortably. We spent most of our time outside hunting for acorns and bugs. It was a short ride to the farmers market, town of Tryon and the Skytop Orchard. We would 100% stay here again!

Great mountain home
The house was all and more than we expected, very clean and well maintained, everything you need is at this house. I read other reviews about the drive up the mountain and have to say it was a really cool and nothing to be concerned about. By the time we left we could get up to the house in 8 minutes. You would foolish if you didn’t check this home out, absolutely awesome!!!

Keypad issue and steep driveway
We were unable to enter the door of the house despite several attempts with the representative listed to call . They offered to send a repair person but it was late in the day and we didn’t know when/if they would arrive . The driveway was so steep that walking up and down it is hazardous for anyone wanted to walk down to the entering road . The agency reviewed our report and refunded the cleaning fee but not the rental fee . It’s a very long winding road up that mountain and I would not recommend travel at night or any conditions other than dry pavement.

You might want to reiterate the drive-up and make a special note about the Driveway. Some folks might not be able to handle that sort of thing. It was impressive nonetheless. Funny note, I am always teasing my girlfriend that "my driving skills are unmatched!" LoL all in jest. But I had the opportunity to show off this trip. LoL. God bless you, yours, and the property.

Best VRBO I've stayed in.
If you're not afraid of winding mountain roads this one was PERFECT!! You have to pass the driveway, turn around, then come back & enter drive way. We walked in and instantly we were not disappointed. I could have spent my entire vacation in the home & on the property. It was clean, comfortable, & thoughtfully supplied. I wasn't ready to end my vacation & leave. We spent our evenings in front of the fireplace planning our next day excursions. In the morning I drank my coffee on the porch in the crisp mountain air while listening to the birds rush around in thier morning routines. We needed a extension on our checkout time & we were able to achieve that without issue. I would highly recommend this property to anyone. Thank you for the wonderful visit. Sincerely, D. Johnson

North Carolina remote home
The interior of the house is very clean. The exterior needs some attention, but ok considering the wooded location. My family rented this home because of the location to the Tyron equestrian show grounds and other outdoor activities. The dryer was broken and was never repaired during our stay. I called two days in a row and was told it would be fixed. That never happened. We had tons of laundry, due to tubbing and horses. We spent a considerable amount of time doing laundry off site. This took a lot of time that we needed to spend elsewhere.

Cute Cabin - Not an Easy Drive
We are seniors so we found the drive up and down the mountain a bit daunting. We happen to have all wheel drive and needed it. The cabin itself is cute and has loads of space. There's no view. We had a few maintenance issues, but they were sorted out right away. The driveway is at a steep slope making it very difficult for anyone who is handicapped. There is automatic garage doors but no remote was provided so you have to get out on the steep driveway, go into the garage and open the door from inside. This is inconvenient and almost impossible for the not so physically fit. The cabin is quiet. The backyard was small but adequate. This cabin is probably more ideal for younger people. We drove into either Asheville or Hendersonville every day for our activities. The cabin is very close to Tryon Equestrian if that is your destination.

Excellent stay!
We stayed for 3 nights at this amazing place! We arrived after dark, and I wouldn't suggest doing that if you are not familiar with the roads. Once we drove them during the daylight hours, it was fine. The property was extremely clean and very convienent to everything! We would definitely stay here again!

Great views in the forest. Lovely cabin and the gas logs are a treat as it turned cold. Driving the mountain switchbacks take a little practice but the views at the top are spectacular. Very close to TIEC where we needed to go. All in all, a great week.

Great place!
Great place with beautiful views! Although not for people who don't like difficult driving, it truly is at the tippy top of the mountain with switchback turns and no guardrail going up. But it was super easy to get to town, we spent a lot of time enjoying coffee on the front porch with awesome views and total privacy, and very easy access to the Tryon horse show as well which we were there for. Overall a great place to be in nature without being too far from everything else!

2nd time just as good as last time
This was our second time at Nature’s Den this year. We also stayed in early April. While the leaves were out on this stay and limited the view of White Oak Mountain, the front porch was still delightful. Home was clean as usual and we made use of the kitchen for all our meals. Daily hikes with spectacular views were a highlight. Highly recommend the property.

Beautiful home, no mountain view, unfortunate-STRESSFUL mishap
The road up to this property has hairpin turns, as it takes you up a mountain. It takes 30 minutes to get up to the house from its base, so grab your groceries ahead of time at the Food Lion. It wasn't clear to me from the listing, but in case you are wondering, there is no mountain view from this house, at least not in June. It's possible that in colder weather the lack of leaves would allow for an obstructed view. From the front balcony- which is a lovely place to sit, but could use some rockers or side tables and/or ottomans- there is nonetheless a nice view of the forest and it is a pleasant place to sit and hear the birds and experience the weather. The jacuzzi tub is nice. It is convenient that there is a small, fenced-in dog run in the back. The wood floors, walls, and high ceilings are beautiful. The kitchen is nice but there were ZERO supplies- not even salt & pepper or condiments. We left some for the next guests, although we forgot salt and pepper at the store :(. The WORST of it started with a drip of oil on the bottom of the oven, which not only set off the smoke alarm (to be expected- and this sort of thing happens), but ALSO engaged the security system. Suddenly a woman could be heard speaking over the very loud alarm and asking us for a code. I had read the binder thoroughly & there was no code listed. My husband yelled "WE DON'T HAVE A CODE" and we thought we could hear her saying she had to call someone. Not knowing who she would call (owner? fire department? management company?), I again scoured the binder, but no code materialized. My cortisone levels peaking, I found Yonder (property management co)'s phone number from an email I had received and got through to Kim- thank goodness she answered- I explained there was no emergency. Alas, Yonder did not have a code either. I gave her my cell number and she said she'd check into it and text me. At some point after that, the alarm sound stopped, thank goodness. Then she texted me and said she'd spoken to the owners and all was ok. She sent me a security system code, however that didn't work, so the alert still showed on all the key pads. THEN the poor volunteer fire department showed up. Nothing like strangers showing up at 9:30 pm when you're trying to enjoy a peaceful, isolated evening. Am I right?! That incident really ruined our last night and left a bitter taste in my mouth. This was not an inexpensive property. I expected more.
