Montana Recreation Retreat on Flathead River Close to Glacier National Park

Residing just outside of Columbia Falls and on the east side of the Flathead River, the River View Retreat is ideally located within minutes driving distance (16.5 Miles) to the West entrance of Glacier National Park, the ever popular resort town of Whitefish and (8.5 miles) Glacier Park International Airport (FCA). Sitting on 1 acre with a gratuitous back yard and over 100 feet of river front this property has ample room for friends and family. The home features a 2,300 square foot ranch floor plan with generous kitchen and great room, 4 bedrooms, 3.5 baths and rear attached deck which can be accessed from the Primary bedroom and the kitchen. Two main bedrooms furnish king beds and queens are furnished in the additional bedrooms. Enjoy the river view from a vaulted ceiling great room accentuated by a multitude of picture windows. Feel right at home with a fully functional kitchen providing abundant cabinet and counter space for storage and preparations. An island, a table with seating for eight and a patio door with a view of the Flathead River provides a fine setting for entertaining. Other amenities include washer and dryer, gas grill and a two car garage.

In Montana, frosty temps and falling snow usher in an action-packed season of wintery fun and adventure. You can ski or snowboard at one of the areas 2 ski resorts. Not a downhill skier? No problem! With snowmobiling, snowshoeing, dog sledding, cross-country skiing, ice fishing and more, there's something for everyone who wants to play in the snow. The snow can arrive as early as October and can linger through May. Montana offers one of the longest winter season in the lower 48 states to skate, schuss, glide and soar.

Wonderful Stay at Riverview
This was only our 2nd stay at a rental property and the experience was excellent. The property was so clean and uncluttered and decorated so nicely. Great place to stay
We had 2 families stay here (total of 7 people). The location worked out well for us to go to Glacier National Park during the day. Table was large enough for all of us to eat together. The owner had let us know ahead of time that we would need road reservations to get into the park, that information was very helpful since the reservations were all gone within the first half hour (maybe even first 10 minutes) after they opened up a few months ahead of the reservation time.

Wonderful house, very well located
The house was as clean and comfortable as all of the other reviews describe. The house is convenient to both the airport and GNP. We cooked easily in the well equipped kitchen, and appreciated being able to do laundry throughout our visit. We especially enjoyed the fire pit for making s'mores by the river! Beautiful house in a beautiful setting.

We loved this property! the house and river are amazing and a perfect fit for a family vacation exploring Glacier and the surrounding area! Spacious, riverfront house
This was a great property; spacious house with a large backyard, and a firepit next to the river. Beds were comfortable and there were plenty of bathrooms. About 20 minutes to the west entrance of Glacier National Park and close to gas, food, and everything we needed. We had a great time, and the host promptly texted back when I had questions. Family Trip from northern Illinois
First time any of us visited Glacier NP. Ages ranged from 6 to 75. We all had a great time hiking, boat rides, rafting, horseback riding, etc. The accommodations met all our needs, even coolers and ice blocks we could use. It was the best equipped rental any of us had every stayed at. We loved that we could park our two cars in the garage. We typically would head to the park before sunrise and this made loading up everything we needed for the day much easier.

Great Place To Stay!
River View Retreat was beautiful and spacious. The split floor plan downstairs, with a bedroom and bathroom on each side of the great room and kitchen, was perfect for two couples to share the home. The kitchen was well-stocked, allowing us to cook dinner each night in the home. We appreciated the cooler in the garage; we were able to pack snacks for each day’s outdoor adventures. The entire home was immaculately clean. The location was excellent; although we seemed like we were far from “civilization,” the home was convenient to Glacier National Park as well as the airport and nearby stores and restaurants. The excellent, convenient location comes at a price though... we could hear the road noise from Highway 2 while sitting on the back deck, as well as through our bedroom window, which put a small damper on our escape to Montana. We loved being able to sit on the back deck and watch the river flow lazily by. On one evening we were delighted to see a deer and her fawn wander through the backyard. One disappointment was the fact that we were unable to use the fire pit. Long before arriving at River View Retreat, we had discussed how fun it would be to relax around the fire pit each evening. While we understand the reason for not being able to build a fire, perhaps the description of River View Retreat should add the notation that the fire pit may at times be unavailable, especially during the fire season of July, August, and September. We would highly recommend River View Retreat, and we hope that we will be able to return one day very soon!

Amazing house on the Flathead River
This is probably the best VRBO we have ever stayed in and we stay in a lot! Everyone loved the location, the views, the stocked kitchen, and the proximity to grocery and restaurants. Our group loves to cook and found everything we needed. our house were extremely responsive and the information book and labeling around the house Extremely helpful. The beds were super comfortable and the master tub big enough to soak in! We absolutely loved our time there.

What a wonderful house!! We were a family of 7 and one baby. First time to Glacier and Jeff and Kelly’s place was perfect. The location worked out well for going to the park, town and Flat Head Lake. The home kitchen was well equipped, comfy beds and the fire pit near the river made for a perfect evening at the end of the day. Highly recommend!!
